I don't think 14 year old adolescents are ignorant, in my Psych class in college, I learned that we,as humans, have developmental milestones. She does not see her actions as dangerous, given the fact that she has no father, is also a contribution to her behavior --- In addition, the point of this movie is for the viewer to see how the mother is trying to protect the daughter in terms of her growing up years --- where Lisa believes that she is thinking clearly and trying to find her identity.
