Superman; those "bullet punches" of his do a lot of damage. Its one of the things the character is infamous for; flying really far, then charging, high speed, at a heavy hitter. That is he flies high speed at someone he knows can take it, and, paired with his strength, the momentum of the punch generates a shockwave. Its how he stopped doomsday in that silly cartoon movie, and its a signature "Superman" attack. That punch could easily drop the Hulk.

The strongest version ever of Superman is the Pre-Crisis Earth-One Superman. He was, at a minimum, at least as powerful as Superboy-Prime when he was a teenager.

When Crisis on Infinite Earths was over, that Superman was altered into the current version of Superman. His history was altered (he began his career as a young adult, and he was never a Superboy) and his power level was significantly reduced. He was still very strong, but nowhere near the levels that he was at before the Crisis.

I still think its interesting that, the Superman who comes from OUR universe is the evil one; that the alternate "Earth 1" superman is the good guy one. I sympathize for prime. I mean losing a whole universe at the age of 15. then being stuck in a hell hole where he's tormented for years by replaying videos of his family dying over and over. no mentor. Giving the life he could've had so washed up DC heroes can live. I mean it's epic. It's like what would happen if Current Superman lost his universe and had to watch his family die over and over. I personally don't sympathize with prime; I won't get into the details but I will share the fact that I've been through much worse, and I didn't turn out to be a serial killer. Oh yeah; Kryptonian psychology is somewhat more resilient than human, according to the fiction. A human being would have gone insane much sooner, it took him that long to go crazy because the Kryptonian mind can withstand a lot more emotional punishment than the human mind can.

Im not sure if its sympathy with some,as much as it is understanding the character. Im not condoning Prime's actions mind you. Not since The Eradicator,have I liked an incarnation of Superman(whom I have not liked since I was maybe 10)as much as I like Prime. You should look up the Fleischer cartoons; THAT Superman, is the one killed by Prime. Call me a nerd boy but, I can't even watch them anymore because every time I see them, I feel sad over the fact that particular Superman is doomed. The only consolation is that he dies a "hero's death."

And yes those cartoons were pre-silver age they were made in the 40's, so yeah, that IS the golden age superman, who was in fact more powerful than the 1986 Byrne revision version, and just as powerful as the current comic book one.

Final comment on this video; I will admit to something.
