    joe

  • TCB band: the greatest band to grace this planet.

  • @natalie6576 Albert Lee is superb, I agree, but it is untrue to say thatJB always plays and sounds the same.

I have been fortunate enough to see JB play live in concert three times, (twice with Emmylou Harris, back in the 70's) ) and his powers of improvisation and playing extempore are second to none.

The man is a bona fide genius on the Telecaster.

    As is Albert Lee ...

  • If you watched & listened to Burton, in the late 50's with Ricky Nelson, when he was just a string-bean kid, this guy could play the shit out of that Telecaster even then. It wasn't Burton who was lucky to have played behind Ricky & Elvis ~ it was Ricky and Elvis who were lucky to have had James Burton playing lead gutiar for them. And THAT is a fact, Jack!

  • @MrRonnieG Some of the best guitar solos were the 30 seconds that James did on the Ricky's songs.

  • @MrRonnieG If you ask James he will tell you he was lucky to play behind ELvis, because it forever changed his life. From that point on he would never be forgotten

  • Wow! What a show THAT must have been!

  • whats the name of the song

  • @luis22880 That's alright mama

  • And this was the warm up! F*** me, that must have been some gig!

  • It's amazing how subtle and brilliant James Burton's playing is. It just has an earthiness to it. Albert Lee is brilliant in his own right and has incredible technique. However James' guitar sings the lines with true soul and incredible phrasing.

  • This is like SRV and Hendrix standing toe to toe.

  • it's a joy to listen to such fine musicians, and especially when they have mastered the instrument like these two have.

  • Mr Burton

  • Way Cool

  • James was trying his best, Albert is the man.

They both were legends , I am sure Peavey pays Albert money to play there stuuf , it all good.

G&L are almost the same as a Fender, I still play Fenders mostly but I have a G&L there really is some cool features on these guitars, one the pick-up are really hot, I can play my Les Paul and my G&L and I don't have to change the amp settings, which anyone who has a Les Paul and a fender knows the volume of the Gibson is almost twice as loud.

    Steveo

  • @steveo27545 Albert plays Ernie Ball guitars - James as far as I know still plays regular fenders. It's Jerry Donahue that plays Peavey...

But yeah two fabulous guitarists here

  • james burton... the father of rock n roll guitar...

  • Why did these guys stop playing regular teles?

  • @peterguit

Because Fender has been out-Fendered by numerous company. I mean, come on! Albert's Music Man just speaks with authority, perfect "cluck" sound from that guitar. Plus Music man instruments (even the albert lee, which I have played) play so much better than Fender teles. Plus, James' tele is more of a modern strat, with the lace sensors and special wiring, plus he's got that ugly paisley finish on his guitars, which is never found on any "regular" tele.

  • @peterguit Because they could???

  • Warming up?? Then I'd hate to see these guys get serious! Jeez! =)

  • warm ups better than most band's prime.

  • OK boys - we'll let you know if you passed the audition.
