Here I was thinking just putting a 555 timer and 4040 binary counter on the dip switches in the unit so that it cycles through every possible combination would work.. even more so if you do this on a Skylink 68 remote and you then get every possible brand. This is something anyone with a basic electronics background could accomplish. Funny video though.. I can imagine the people who are going to try this and probably end up blowing up a USB controller.

another way to do it is to use a tweaser to try all of the possible combination of the thing. there are 3 positions for all 10 or so things. usb cable: universal sereal bus. two wires for bussignal. two for power. the blue bar in the box sets the code the box sends to the receiver. if you chave the code to match the garage, the garage door will open. the reciver only reads IR signals. it does NOT send them to be able for anyone to 'detect' the code. just like your tv remote. the remote sends IR data. the tv recieves it. the tv also doest NOT send data back.
