A good version of my song, "Wait A Little Longer, Please Jesus." I wrote this song, and others, when I was sixteen years old in Nashville, Tennessee, and all were stolen from me from a tape. There are newspaper articles mentioning this on my Facebook, shirleymalcolmsheppard, Old Pictures photo section which is public. The whole story is in my Notes section, but only Friends can read that.
I love this song! I have Merle's 1971 CD "Land of Many Churches" and I find myself playing this song over and over again. Thanks for posting this song!
This song lives forever. Heaven is a home GOD has provided for us if we except Jesus as our savior and love GOD with our hearts. GOD loves us no matter what we have done. Please go to GOD and ask Jesus into you life and heart and be in Heaven someday when the trumpet sounds. GOD bless us all.
I'm trying to learn this song for my daddy. We are supposed to sing it soon. It's a good old song, many different versions but I like Merle's the best.
@Denvermorgan2000 abuse is prohibited but i do not believe you can show me a scripture indicating there wont be any good whiskey nor tequila in heaven
@rickshaw60 Well it would surpise me if it is there just look at all the death and destruction that whiskey and booze has caused and the bible said not to drink it i will get the scripture for you besides why would any christian want to put garbage in their body anyway.
my pawpaw passed yesterday, and this was one of the few songs he requested at his funeral. he worked for N&W Railroad as an electrical signal maintainer for 43yrs.
