  • Wow that sounds great.

  • Do you always have to tune to a chord when using a slide or can you play stuff in standard?

  • I like this alot. Great sound.Thanks.

  • Howdy Johnny

Greetings from tour mountains in West Virginia

man you kicked it in the butt with this one

    Rich

  • @1958wvpicker Thanks for that, I bought this one for £120 ($190) from a friend, I think they retail for around £350 ($550) I was lucky with this one it does have a great tone.

  • What tuning is the guitar in?

  • @utherslayer It's tuned to E (EBEG#BE) but these days I tune to D (DADF#AD) as E tuning put too much strain on the neck due to the heavy strings I use.

  • A good one Johnny and one of my favorites.. Bill Futrell

  • As my grandpa always says: "Keep on pickin' and a' grinnin' guitar man!"

  • man, I wanna get one of these!

    Welldone

  • Written by Leon McAuliffe, it was first recorded by Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys in 1936

  • I always credit it to Sylvester Weaver, written around 1923. Guitar Rag (played on a Guitjo) became a blues classic and was covered in the 1930s by Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys as Steel Guitar Rag and became a country music standard.

  • BAD ASS

  • Dang, you may be on the other side of the pond, but I swear you got the South in your

blood and it's leaking out sweet and strong

through your fingers! God bless and keep on

pickin' that box! This was a treat to my ears

  • very nice job

  • Really enjoyed this video. Just getting into resonator myself and was great to see such an accompliashed piece on one. Nice work!

  • Good job man, althought this is a resonator guitar (dobro) and not a steel guitar, but still good.

  • The tune is called "Steel Guitar Rag" named so in the days when an acoustic guitar was played with a piece of steel to create the bluesy slide sound that we all know and love. It's not a Dobro or a National, it's a Resonator made by Ozark, very good it is too.

    Thanks for the comment.
