  • Je suis certain que Mouskouri est loin d' etre grecque. Je crois qu' elle joue un role tres obscure au service de l' universalisme .

  • the very sad thing is that promoting Greece that time, was identical with promoting the coronels' dictatorship. Very sad and contradictional... If things were different in Greece when Nana, at the peak of her career, was enchanting the world introducing the music of her country to the end of the universe, the benefit would be even greater... Nana we love you!

  • :-)

  • alexandar the great is macedonian lol hahahaaa

nice looking nana but very cold bloded, not like the greek girls

  • I think the translation should read - There was an island :)

  • @jagara1 No. The song is called "then ee-tan neesee". "then" is what "not" is in english (negative particle). "ee-tan" is here the equivalent of "that was" and "neesee" stands for island. So the title translation is right.

  • @soisodoeht Thanks for the info :)

  • forgive and forget δυο λέξεις μια ιδεολογία!!!!!!!

    MickilGabriel

  • @MICKILGABRIEL C'est aussi la musique de Manos Chadzidakis("Les enfants du Piree" etc.) et les paroles de Nikos Kazadzakis(l'auteur de "The last temptation") qui rendent la chanson magnifique!

  • The drummer Spyros Livieratos was my teacher on drums. i;m so happy about this video. do you have more? please!!!!

  • Sounds great! This song is so difficult to perform, but Nana copes with it perfectly. Thanks a lot Kostas for sharing and mnemonyxx for posting!

  • Nana with The Atenians, amazing...!

  • Outstanding, I've been looking for this for along time, the last time I heard it I was an impressionable youngster and 25 years on, Nana still has one of the most wonderful voices ever heard. Thank you.

  • One of the greatest singers of all time...

  • Thanks so much for posting this. Thought I'd never hear it again. What a wonderful mysterious melody and lyrics. A really superb performance. I'd love to see Nana and the Athenians singing "Irini", also featured in BBC4 tribute.

  • I'll endeavour to recover & post Irini for you - the hard drive this stuff is on started playing up over christmas :(

  • It would be fantastic to see that again. It's such an uplifting song. Thank you! I've actually memorised some of the words, though my understanding of it is minimal due to my very Greek!

  • I loved the way she explains the song! Just loved it!! This song has always been one of my favorite Greek songs! thanks for the video

  • *****

  • OOOOOhhhh MERCI! Cette chanson et Enas Mithos sont des chansons culte de sa carrière...MERCI!

  • His mermaid sister named Thessaloniki, my hometown. (The city was named after her.) Such a beautiful and expressive performance. Thank you so much for posting this. I hadn't heard it since I was a child.

  • I didn't know that. Thanks! Guess it's little closer to Alexander's home than Crete. Unfortunately my experience of Thessaloniki the city is limited to the bus station, experienced a couple of times during minimum budget transits from Athens to Istanbul.

  • Tell me about it. I have my fair share of experiences at that bus station. Hope you get to see more of Thessaloniki one day.
