For some reason, whenever I hear certain interpretations, all I can make out is a slowed down low pitched voice speaking nonsense... I mean, all people need is a deep voice and some creepy echo effects, and that sound very Giygas-esque.
Giygas was once an alien who was driven mad by his and his kind's own paranoia, seeking to eliminate the secrets of PSI that the human race had gained.
Now you see before you what this insanity has wrought. A contorted, hideous monster that cannot even control himself when his true power is unleashed. Destroying him was a favor to himself aswell as others.
