I have a question about the case. i see that it has a built in screen protector, but i was wondering if you can feel a gap between the screen cover and the actual screen?

I like this product but on the bottom were the home screen button is and the charge hole the rubber stretch and it won't go back to original tightness, they need to fix this because for. 50 dollars it need to work with no problems and the rubber stretching like that is a problem..

Bought one of these today for the 4S and I am pretty happy with it so far. I really enjoy the built in screen protector and the case makes me feel like it's strong and sturdy. Although, the size/weight that the case on the phone takes a little getting used to.

i really do like using this case, but when i put it on my belt i can feel it doenst hold that great and sometimes it gets held open w/ that clip on it. but if you are looking for protection this is a great case. i've dropped my phone a few times (due to the clip being stuck open) and my cell works great still

Lol Well I personally just love Otterbox, especially the defender series case for the Iphone 4s. Mine has a black outer silicone cover with a royal blue hard plastic inner layer. There are sooo many things to love about this case but my favorite attribute is the scent. I find the scent of the case to be very discrete and light which is just so delightful. Most other cases I've tried had a peculiar scent that I wasnt too fond of but Otterbox has done a great job eliminating this problem. LMAO!!

@pajarillaga1 No. It will fit it, but it's not compatible with the 4s because they moved the proximity sensor on the phone which tells the phone black the screen when you pull it close to face during a phone call to prevent you from accidentally dialing or hanging up. In other words, the Iphone 4 case will cover that sensor on the 4s causing the screen not to black. Also the camera on the 4s needs a larger cut out. Plus i think they changed the volume buttons' positions but idk for sure on that.

@Mackroxy91 It's beautiful, yes, but some people just need the additional protection when they're going about their job... outdoor work, etc. For everyone else, there are three choices, really. One, leave the phone exactly the way it is and risk scratches on the glass surfaces. This fake Gorilla Glass in the iPhone 4S can be scratched by something as minor as lint on a shirt. I know this because my phone has a very light scratch on the back because I used my shirt to wipe off a fingerprint.

thanks for the review! however, would you mind doing a review of the otterbox 4 original vs. the new 4s case and if affects photos taken with flash or if it blocks the light sensor (as otterbox claims) - i've noticed no difference, but otterbox has been saying that the new iphone 4s do not fit the original iphone 4 cases - but they do fit perfectly.

@TheOtherMan11 The camera on the 4S does not need the larger cutout, the camera and flash are the same size. It's the aperture of the camera which changed, not the size of the lens that you see on the outside. I suspect that it's cheaper to produce a case with a simple oval cutout, omitting the more complex teardrop shape of the old case. The flash on my 4S works perfectly fine even through the old style teardrop cutout.

@elusivellama Oh ok.. Well I had heard that the Iphone 4 case affects flash pictures on the 4s by reflection somehow but I never owned the Iphone 4 case so if you say so then I must have heard incorrectly.

@graeamos I have the Otterbox Commuter for the iPhone 4, and it fits on my 4S with no issues. The mute switch is off-centre within the cutout of the silicone skin, but does not go underneath the silicone and can still be easily accessed. The cutout on the back of the commuter has the same tear-drop shaped recessed peepholes for the camera/flash as the Defender you're asking about, and I just took a couple pics in a very dark room with the flash. Pics look good, the flash does NOT get blocked.
