In theory, the only thing preventing a TAS from being perfect is the route planning, which is done by the human.

Can you do any of this without the Cane of Byrna? I missed it, unfortunately, making boss fights like Vitreous or Moldorm idiotically hard. A speedrun that doesn't utilize items like that would be even more impressive!

God I wish I had that cane though, the only alternative is the cape and Sheik's Hideout is just @$&^%!@#$&^@$!@ q:)

Yea, well doing it without the cane of byrna is impossible without using TAS :). Also it doesnt give me many problems with my run cause the key i need for the parallel tower is in the halls of pain along with the cane of byrna. If someone even manages to pull something like that off its obviously TAS.

TAS would make it super possible, the way those things are made they just plan out every single second of the run (at least with super metroid, anyways) this is definitely possible though, you'd just need someone good enough (read: no life) to dodge every laser, moldorm, spike etc with just 3 hearts

Then again levels like Sheik make me believe you NEED more than 3 hearts so who knows

tl;dr, this game is possible without the cane of byrna, it's just be really annoying and require many hearts

Dude no...its not possible without the cane of byrna. You cant slide past the lasers in Darunias caverns its not possible no and if they hit u yea 6-7 heart damage. You cannot do this without the cane of byrna. Especially the parts where in the parallel tower fighting the worms with the fire balls coming at you and still the eyeballs and cannonballs and spikes having to walk through on the perfect pixel. No dude. do you think I even planned anything? or do you think i just threw it together?

That's not true. I never managed to get the cane and I'm almost done with the game.

I hardly belive you. I have tryed to go through this game without the cane and its not possible at all, te only way to get through the lasers is to have 3 bottles filled with whatever then uoi would need almost all of the hearts. Also like Littlelink91 said the part in the parallel tower thats not easy eather. so no. i find that very hard to belive. and to answer your question too Littlelink91 i dont think you planed anything :p i just think your really good. but hey. you might of planed it.

Yea it was planned...I just couldn't figure out how the hell to calculate the correct amount of hearts I should have...so for all the hearts I have they were mainly found directly on the route to all the keys, dungeons, necessary upgrades, etc. And the extra 2 magic bottles? Yea...No idea.

lmao, i got compleatly side tracked wial doing this walkthrough and i was useing to to help me and by the time you made this one i rememberd it was a speed run so you only did the two places so i had to go back and do the rest. also i think you should make a video where all the tablets are, if youv found them all that is.

I'm at the Parallel Tower, and managed to get there without the cane (didn't get it), and I must say, it was a hell of a challenge.

I beat the game without the cane, I just hunted heart pieces and made sure I had ALL I could have at that specific point in the game, so calm down (2 pots and 1 fairy plz) o _ o

You cant dodge the fireballs at sarias gardens while trying to lift up the giant fricken boulders without having to get a heart of damage taken from you. no. There are so many other reasons how i could explain why its not possible 3-5 hearts without the cane of byrna speed run its just unbelievable. The only way is other dungeons like going to Nabooru's hole which is the easiest and then somewhere else but no. If you played the game and learn all the aspects of it you would know why its impossib

okay a 3 hearts speed run is probably inconceivable. super metroid redesign, you NEED at least 3 energy tanks for Norfair so HMM

You know you don't have to wait for the turret to blast you to safety. You could also dash into the wall to the left and you land on an invisible platform. But i don't know which one is quicker....
