Well Crosby smart enough not to fight Avery since Avery is garbage. Bieksa is a good player, but isn't a much better fighter than Keith Ballard, who Crosby fought defending Malkin last year.
With that said, that complete avoids the actual point in that Crosby doesn't get paid to be a side show and fight. He gets paid to help score goals and win games, something that he has infinitely done better than Richards through their careers to this point.
