She has been through alot, yet she had talent, grace, voice, her fans and yes legs. Dark glasses are not a gimmick. She has severe sensitivity to light since she got hit by a car. She also requires a cane to walk so she is often sitting to sing. Read up on her, she is a true inspiration and an advocate for music therapy!

@numbforthought Are you sure you love Meldoy? or know her well for that matter? "whining about needing a man"? the same person that once said music is her true love not men? I think she sings about love and that stuff "mostly" because they suit her style of music the best. she can't get political and swear at the world leaders or protest global warming in her songs, can she?
perhaps the OP was referring to the music and not the singing? I like both but I would quite understand people not liking the scatting in the vocals but liking the music itself.
Really great voice, except this Broba dodo dadda drumm thing, it's annoying and especially the "Rrrrrrrrr.." is unsexy, sorry ;-) But I love this kind of music!
they know melody gardot, they seek a video of "who will comfort me", they find a performance that gets even better than the studio version and they DISLIKE the effin' video? what was there for'em to dislike, the SHOES? I'D KILL FOR THE SHOES!
@LydiVak I have heard this song twice in concert and maybe three more times on YouTube. She never sings it the same way. She is a genius and just happens to have an amazing voice and is gorgeous, pretty good for someone who almost died at 19.
oplevede Melody Gardot ved et tilfælde på Norsk TV i forgårs. Hun var fantastisk og havde fire fremragende musikere med - optaget i Grieghallen. Fabelagtigt!
Classy, stylish, set on a high artistic level, and yet not afraid to be sexy... And somehow so deeply dignified in her attitude....gotta love her. And the musicians around her!
shes got soul beyond her years... young fresh... heartbreak still stag.. and quite clear... very glad she sang Cole Porter's " get out of town " a treasure... jazz for our generation.... and might i add, at its finest.... beautiful voice which will be heard through the ages... thanks Melody.
ha. All of Melodys songs are about her whining about needing a man :p
People sing about what they need to sing about, and sometimes the meanings to songs are universal.
Eminems songs they are not as plain as the lyrics for some reason appear to some people. Sarcasm? Hidden meanings? Personal refrences? Jokes? Hes talented and can rap well. But not your style or what you like which is fine, i can respect that ! Its really how you look at it, I love Melody and Eminem.
@numbforthought Agreed. Each to their own. I'd rather the masses didn't clamber over people like Melody as it makes it more, say, intimate to myself. I don't hear it everywhere I go. I listen to it when it suits me and when I can most appreciate it. We here on this just have a highly developed sense for finer, more elegant music which more unfortunate people have been blessed with.
I definitely hear you. Melody has more class in her finger nail then Eminem has in his entire body. ha! Music is one thing that is mine, up until now I would tell people I am selfish with my music...but the way you put it 'intimate' and listening to it when you can really soak it in. That's just a beautiful way to put it. It is great when more people can hear what we are hearing, it just sometimes can ruin the spirit. From your comment alone, surely you know exactly what i mean.

Eminem deserves a little credit :) your of course entitled to your opinion, he might not be your cup of tea....but..
There are meaning behind his lyrics, which is rap and not about women, drugs, or money...and thats big in my book
plus he has the passion melody has :)
