Kathy's voice is similar to Diane's, a bit lighter and airier. All four Lennon girls sang with wonderful breath control, wonderful appreciation of the lyrics, a sense of rhythm and a lilt, plus total sincerity.
We grew up in the 50's-60's and would pretend to mock the Welk show as corny. Our parents and g'parents would NOT miss a show, every Saturday at 6:00 our time. But we never missed it either! We loved Lawrence Welk because our family did..although we'd never tell them. And I had a huge crush on the Lennon Sisters!
Today I can't wait to see the Welk reruns that come on PBS. And of course it's on at 6:00 on Saturdays! It's so good to watch such a sweet show from an innocent time.
@jum1801 Yes! I remember those days, too! My grandparents LOVED this show. I always thought it was a bit ... well, unnaturally super nice? And mocked it, too. But now I listen, and realize that the Lennon's were actually pretty good. (But I still think they acted a bit too unnaturally nice!)

I just watched a Welk show and Steve Smith sang "When I Look In Your Eyes" beautifully. Kathy Lennon was interviewed afterwards and she commented on what a great voice he had.
Kathy's voice is soooo warm and compelling! I find myself hanging on to every every word. In all of here songs she sings with such feeling & emotion. I really appreciate the gift the Lennon sisters have given us. I loved them as a child and love them more today. They are real! Steve was also great.

Kathy and Steve are great together! They should have gotten married, much better than guy and ralna. steve and kathy had great singing styles.
