I don't know if you're aware of it but many of these holy men have powerful energy around them (prana, chi, shakti, whatever). Krishnamurti had the most powerful energetic presence I ever personally encountered. Couple that with the originality of his message and it was a mind boggling experience to see him in person. awesome.

I have recently discovered him myself. I would give my right arm to have had a conversation personally with this man. I know what you mean when you say he is your best friend. I feel the same. In reading him every day, I am beginning to feel his presence more and more.

As it is...not how we want it to be, it should have to be,...but is..... . He lived his beautiful pureness of heart. His love transcended and radiated infinity, limitlessness, expansion. He is us. We are all him. Only his eyes were not closed. His mind was still. At peace. Not led by ego. His own house was in order. From here love unbound found a beloved vessel.

Listening to him is a kind of meditative experience. Once he said you fall because you set you yourself on a pedestal. Seeing yourself plainly as you are, without through the eyes of a predetermined opinion frees one from lot of psychological turmoils. For me he is my best friend. Even though i have not seen him once personally, i heard him and read his books. And still he is my best friend.

Its actually not possible to change of ones own volition. Anything out of ones own volition is an act of self or the thinker.

It is realization that we cannot do anything and cannot change makes us give up....i.e. self or the thinker gives up and ones the thinker is gone, is dead, then there is no problem since there is no separation of thinker and thought.

So you cannot change if you want to! only can change when you completely give up.

He looked up at the trees and he took his time, I did not shake his hand or walk up to him too much in awe; but we still had an amzing connection. Like a connection between our eyes...I wish I could really tell you. But when I read him I feel like I can be awake and aware for a little while.
