  • Rustam is a beast, ossetian wrestling?

  • haha dirty takedown!

  • yeh but davi ramos has a dangerous guard. cant do the basics on a guy like that

  • rustam needs to start training with a good bjj coach,he doesnt have basic guard passing skills.

  • @scarred10 he does not need a bjj coach. He is an elite freestyle wrestler and in addition he trains Sambo & Judo with Oilenik, who is a submission master in pro MMA. What Rustam is doing works on the highest level ADCC trials, Grapplers Quest, NAGA, etc. He has submitted and won countless BJJ black belts. If this was an MMA match or ADCC match, Rustam wins the entire comp by points easily (in ADCC you get -1 for pulling guard) and standing with him ... goodnight Irene.

  • @pcjudosambo neither sambo nor judo are very strong on the guard and it shows when rustam(who i really admire) struggles to pass guard on elite guys,he doesnt even seem to know how to go about it beyond trying to manhandle them.I agree that pulling guard should be penalised as it encourages neglect of wrestling skills. If rustam had a year concentrating on the guard hed be near unstoppable.

  • @scarred10 BJJ is excellent on the ground but you're generalizing every Judo or Sambo player, which is a wrong thing to do. If it didn't work, Rustam wouldn't have submitted/won countless # of BJJ black belts & World Champions. There's a reason why BJJ black belts like Nick Diaz or Vinny M and dozens more practice Judo & Sambo submissions because it offers something new to the table (the approach) that's not found in BJJ (explosiveness of Judo/Sambo). Watch my videos of Judo/Sambo guys in BJJ.

  • @pcjudosambo there are no subs in judo or sambo not done in bjj nowadays althought sambo place more emphasis on leg subs, judo in particular is weak on the ground in terms of depth of technique.Passing the guard is where rustam is weak,he seems lost in that area but his base and power is so good nobody can sweep or sub him so he just stays there safe. There are no top elite judo/sambo guys on the no gi circuit apart from rustam, hes the only 1 capable of placing in ADCC.

  • @pcjudosambo Thw vids on your channel are just kids and beginners.Ive done quite a lot of judo over the years as I wasnt happy with the emphasis given to throws in bjj,i never graded but never met more than a few good newaza men,its a limited game due to the rules.Several black belts could throw and pin me but was hardly ever subbed at a judo school even as a white belt in bjj.I was a white belt for 5 yrs due to lack of schools in the area

  • @scarred10 once again, you're generalizing all schools. You cannot do that. U.S. judo's newaza is weak and bad while European Newaza is high and so is Russian & Asian (Korean for example). Our school practices 50% newaza every single day in combination of Sambo ground work. Our sambo players submit almost every single BJJ player via leg locks, does that mean BJJ lacks leg locks, yes BUT not in all schools. I cannot generalize all BJJ schools just like you cannot do that with Judo schools.

  • @pcjudosambo There are great players in all styles of martial arts! Certain styles make fights, plus the heart and will of the person fighting also makes a huge difference. Besides that who won the whole thing not a sambo or judo guy =)

  • @scarred10 I wouldnt say unstoppable!

  • @pcjudosambo Then why hasnt he won the ADCC. All he has to do is compete to get there!

  • @COPE4N1 He has won ADCC trials, Grapplers Quest, Naga several times. He didn't compete at ADCC this time but he won ADCC trials before.

Second of all, yes a BJJ guy won this tournament but only due to "aggressiveness". Third, ALL grappling events, including ADCC, Grapplers Quest & NAGA are all BJJ related and share a BJJ point/scoring system, which differs from Sambo, Judo & Wrestling. How come you never see a BJJ player win a Judo, Sambo or Wrestling competition?

  • @pcjudosambo

BJJ guys are always to scared to stray away from their comps, thats why. I only ever see Judo & Sambo guys in wrestling comps and BJJ comps but never the other way around but I dont blame them, they would get destroyed.

  • @mikey4u1984 it has nothing to do with being scared. its about being clever. your right when you say they would get destroyed in wrestling competitions, however that is like saying the football player would get destroyed against the boxer and the boxer would get destroyed if he tried to play football against the footballer. but in this comp, judo, sambo etc. are here to use their skills to be the best grappler., but the bjj guy wins once again.

  • @soooooo89

I understand what you mean but maybe i did not explain well, All im saying is that BJJ guys never go out of their comfort zone in competition, always compete in BJJ tourneys and never try their skills else where. My guess was fear but who knows.

  • @mikey4u1984 but how can they utilise their skills in a wrestling match? their techniques are not allowed. anyways regardless of any of that, this guy rustam is an absolute beast of a man. it goes to show that its not the art, but the guy who is doing it. sambo, judo and wrestling are top class sports and i would be happy to master either of them.

  • @soooooo89

Its just that in America BJJ practitioners dont venture out of their art not that they would win or be champs but thats not the point, more to just improve their knowledge. In Brazil almost all BJJ have Judo training and in Europe most guys come from other grappling arts Judo being the biggest over there. I just think there should be more cross competition so America produce grappler's like Rustam and Andre.
