For example, can I deposit Mew in the PC and then come back for him later without any problems?

I just want to make sure that the game can be played exactly as before after Mew is caught. I don't want to screw up my cartridge or save file, of course. :)

@SoopahUltraTV Yes, but you before Mew can appear, you must defeat the trainer with the lvl 17 slowpoke, go back to Cerulean City, and head north across Nigget bridge, and Mew will appear. If this confuses you, there's a video in the releated videos that is called "Catching Mew in Red and Bue versions" that demonstrates this glitch

@GetOffOfAIM get another version of the game and another gameboy and a gamelink cable and trade all your high level pokemon to that new cartridge for some lame bug pokemon that you catch on the new cartridge. then all of your high level pokemon will be safe on the new cartridge and you can start over on your old cartridge because you won't care about all the weak bug pokemon and you can trade back for all of your lvl 100's after you beat the last gym again lol epic.

I think this may be fake because you brought up the start menu before you fought mew, which is something you can't do in red and blue. I don't know about yellow though, so i could be wrong.

@PrinceRufus2 well yes, you see you activate a long range trainer battle but before he approaches you, you must teleport to a pokemon center, at this point the menu will be disabled. After that you go to the area where that trainer is and the menu will automatically pop up and the battle with mew will start. It's a little more complicated than this and i'm jumping steps.

@ oceanblue1224 actually, through a glitch you can get the 3 starters in pokemon glod/silver and then get to kanto and catch a pikachu(which is a rare spawn in the veridian forest area.) Thats what I did and now my team is a bayleef, Feraligator, Typhlosion(the one i started with) pikachu, ho oh and lugia.

I just found out that you can encounter a lvl 18 Diglett and still encounter Mew. Just defeat any trainer after you use fly/teleport in front of a trainer and then go into Diglett cave and defeat a lvl 18 Diglett. Sometimes you might end up getting Gastly or Tenacool so just keep on trying. This a good oppotunity to get Mew if you defeated the Slowpoke trainer or the swimmer trainer.

it really just depends on the special stats (hexcode) of the OPPONENT! The only time it matters from your own pokemon is if you use the Ditto-glitch. That youngsters Slowpoke has the special stats of 21 so when this glitch is done with battling him after escaping from the guy in the grass you get Mew. No other pokemon. The Viridian forest-glitch works with more varieties of pokemon (nidoking, execute, ivysaur, etc).

your pokemon has to have a "special" stat of 21 to get mew. 21 sets the hexadecimal value of mew in the game. pokemon with different "special" stats will result in different pokemon. so one can get the appropriate number (special stat) for a different Pokémon from a hacking device code list, then translate it to decimal. just happens that mew is 21

Second was i think a guy named The_Scythe or w/e found it on some geocities website or w/e, but anyways assuming it all to be trial and error untill shit finally happened and leading to jizzing in his pants.

Where is the house at the beggining located?

just East of Saffron City. 

when your in Saffron, go to th East gate then go North and you'll be at that house.

Or if you havent got that far yet, go to Rock Tunnel and reach Lavender Town then go West of Lavender Town and you'll reach this house.

To get to Rock Tunnel you need to have HM01 which is found on SS.Anne in Vermillion, South of Saffron City.
