I originally bought mine off you guys at RVOps, and never looked at dirty smelly hexi again!! awesome bit of kit, will never go out on exercise without it..
i live in the west midlands and have just brought a jetboil do you no where i can buy the jetboil gas canisters have looked everywere and on the net and jet boil only sell them in 100 a case and dont deliver overseas thanks
Oh Heck sorry to be a pain, but were about to put another demo up advertising the Jet Boil "Flash". A few improvements over the old Jet Boil but the wet/brew Im guessing will taste the same :-)
Bought one of these after watching this feature - cracking bit of kit. One tiny tiny flaw that I've found - once you've made your brew (or wet, etc), it's so hot it takes the roof off your mouth. Give it a minute or two though, and it's the best one I've had in ages.
Would a Coleman self sealing 70/30 Butane/propane mixture 250g gas cannister fit inside it ok? and do you know any shops not online where i can find them, if they do fit? otherwise, what am i looking for? thanks.
Nope the 250 or the 500 cannister wont fit into the pot. The only cannister that fits is the 100. Please note, however, that you can of course use either the 250 or 500 on the burner for cooking.
Chreers for tha quick response, and yea, i thought taht would be the case. I'm going on a 3 day overnight to Merryworth woods with the ccf at my school, so i think i'll either get two 100's or one 100 and one 250, keeping the 250 in my burgen and the 100 in my webbing with the stove...any recommendations...
I've been looking on the internet for ages, and i can't seem to find what fuel i need to buy one of these, i know i can't get the jetfuel, but i see no websites telling me what type of gas it takes or where i can buy it.
Hi Ash, we would recommend using re-sealable gas canisters (70/30 butane, propane gas canisters), apologies if the demonstration didnt make that clear.
I use mine often but not sure about backpacking with it. Afraid to dent it up, then things will not fit inside. I made the plastic cup easier to remove. Stowing the stove attached to the gas is not advisable. Also, larger cans do not fit inside. Partially full canisters accumulate and are definitely a problem. In very cold weather the piezo will not ignite fuel which needs to be warm. Neoprene insulation allows holding bare handed even at full boil. Some faults but great stove and company.
Okay, the jetboil looks fantastic, and portable too, if you have an assault vest, but will it fit into a utility pouch on standard webbing, in place of the mess tins? It looks a little tall.
Excellent Video. However, I do not care for it because of the fuel cans. I assume that they are not refillable? A 442 Coleman Duel Fuel stove work of of petrol or white gas ans is similarly small.
Trying to compare the two is a mistake. Jetboil = all round use. Its stability makes it usable in vehicles and could be used whilst a vehicle is on the go i.e. it could be hand held whilst it boils its water, 2 mins to boil and with the lid securing the water you could put a boil in bag in the pot to heat through. Crux = smaller and lighter. Packed it takes up only two thirds of the height of the jet boil. Suited to situations where you have the time and security i.e. harbour positions.
I don't view this video as advertising but rather a demo. Reason being I have seen magazine ads for these but didn't know what they were like to use. I wasn't impressed until the last bit where you showed it does fit in a pouch on the combat vest; very handy! Now, if only our flyboys would let us take gas canisters on the Hercs! Until I find one of these at a good price I'll stick with my Kovea titatnium folder, only 88grams! Regards.
Sorry you see this as an advert. I put it on there to inform some of the military personell who come on our site how some of our products work. If i have caused offence then im more than happy to amend the video - your shout? Hope the advert was informative? :-)

These are the nuts. Far superior to a hexamine cooker.
Cheers RVOps.

around $80. conversely, alcohol stoves are, for weight and size, awesome. but alittle more hands on. depends on your priorities.
