  • ok, now why didn't they go with the headlights from 1:54? those look way better than what it ended up with

  • thumbs up for r8 side intakes

  • dear Santa!

  • I love this.. <3

  • Looks a bit like the child of a Prius and a Smart... of motorcycles.

  • cooooooooooooooooool

  • i like this - much more refined than the ecomobile

  • how much i want one

  • der motorradschein is kein problem. der anschaffungspreis schon eher

  • i tough those were automatic..

  • how fast do you die in in of these things at 100mph??

  • @alabala327 Youre safer than in a normal motorbike, depending on the crash itself you might even be safer than in a car.

  • I would love to hear this translated to English.

  • @DarxusC done... well, sort of - you can't hear it, but read the subtitles... :)

    ( -> video response )

  • @BobLee911 Nice, thanks.

  • For information about MonoTracers in the U.S.A., google "21st Century Motoring"

  • My coworker got a pic of one of these in the carpool lane on the 405 south in beautiful Costa Mesa, CA.

  • I want one

  • weird.

  • Great idea, but too fscking expensive.

  • the Swiss are great at inventing and engineering, but i believe that only the Japanese can take over that concept and make an affordable product out of it while still maintaining decent quality. they will be copying this, for sure.

  • needs more rims showing

  • I saw one of these on the road today. This thing is so cool.

  • Was war zuerst da?

  • I wan one its awesome!

  • now I've find a reason to live and work

  • Its a lovely bit of kit. I would never consider buying one because of its prohibitive cost.

    .

Those who commented on here saying its not as safe as a car. Please go away and die of boredom. We are not interested in your Honda Civic. The people who will have a monotracer will most likely have a chuffing great Merc, an A8, M5. Ferrari or Porshe Maybe even a couple of other motorcycles too. £50,000 says why.

    .

Lastly, those drop down bogey wheels are semi-automatic. A 20yr g'tee fixes any ills.

  • Man, I'm telling you...if those drop-down training wheels failed, that would be wedding bell blues!

  • @randommagnum Wrong! ;-)

1st : the support wheel system just does not fail!

That's a swiss precision mecanic, works like a swiss watch.

2nd: if the vehicle would fall, it would fall to the support wheel. No scratch!!

Push buttom lift it up again!

    3. if the support mecanic really would fail, You can wind the vehicle up by hand and let the suport system on the road. speed in this mode is limited to 80km/h

Trust me: I know it exactly.

Mr.Wagner showed me that in his own Ecomobile.

  • Video won't play on my iPhone.

  • dose it have any cooler?IF there isn't,we will die 15minutes after starting drive in summer.

    but actually it's good looking...

  • waaaaahh!!! why is so expensive?

  • This is Wonderful!

  • Would love to see mass produced affordable cabin motorcycles, the fuel economy gains are amazing.A removable or sliding canopy could be a option,I prefer the hardtop.

  • The fact that it consumes only 3 liters per 100Km it`s a blast. a top speed of almost 300 km per hour and a BMW engine. What else?! of course. the price thing. But imagine if they were produced in mass worlwide, I`m more than sure prices would go low.

  • All this types of vehicles look great. But what about side wind?

  • i wanted one then i saw

*cough* Basic price ex factory 52,500 Euros (+ local VAT) *cough* (from their homepage)

with that sort of money...yhea... :'( drop down to HALF that price!!!!

  • I like bikes the way they are. If it already works don't try to fix it!

  • normal bikes are great up to the point where you hit a car and go flying at 100 mph into a tree! Its simple physics.

  • Eu QUero Uma !!!

  • what a smart vehicle !!

but , i feel its design follows audi A8, not original.

if the stabilizers become a accent of its design, it would be special ,original and cool, i think.

  • hot but i will stick to my carver

  • the bikes from TRON are finally here!

  • Death-trap. And I don't care what they say to the contrary.

Imagine dropping one at speed in a right-hand corner. That sleek

skin means you keep sliding until you hit something immovable -

an SUV, etc. Unlike a conventional bike, you can't even get up and

run out of the way of a second impact. No thanks.

Plus, I saw a guy in a similar thing riding around in Chatham Co.,

and every stop sign was a near-disaster til those outriggers

    deployed.

You want practical, buy a Honda Civic.

  • theres wheels on the side to prevent the body from even touching the ground. theres a vid on here of one wiping out. the driver picked it back up and drove off. and if u fell off a bike at speed, i doubt you would be able to get up and out of the way anyway

  • Riding a motorcycle is a death trap. These are a vast improvement.

  • I'm going to get one of these. Whatever it takes....I put that on everything.

  • hmm.. invention of seatbelt resulted in less driver casualties and more pedestrian casualties.

  • Ok Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki,... Make one, but better (automate the stabilizer laser and speed sensitive with manual option. Ready Y.H.K.S. On your your mark get set go! America will buy most anything!---I flippen love innovation!!! God does to man Im tellin ya. lol

  • psipunk . com for more futuristic sci-fi cars ect.. that are becoming a reality

  • it can't filter through traffic efficiently. going up and down sidewalks also might be a problem; driving on a gridlock in a highly chambered turn with stabilizers (not sure). Making very tight chambered corners at slow speed; Not the ideal position to check the asphalt for dirt or other slippery stuff. On the good side, you don't get wet, it has lots of potential for passive security vs conventional bikes. it has lots of potential for further automation of some driving aspects. Nice

  • Awesome, that's like a primitive light cycle.

  • better put K1300s or Hayabusa 2009 engine and using an electrohydraulic center-stand (K1200LT) with smaller wheels instead of training wheels.

  • Comment removed

  • do they come with air conditioner i would love one but i leave in texas hot summers

  • Looks like the Audi R8 from the side...

  • the alternative is the carver one, which you need only a normal driver / car license

  • Lol, great idea, but imagine stopping next to a dog or a small kid... "oops, sorry, i forgot about the wheels coming down"

  • haha i was thinking the same thing.. and i think the video showed the side wheels coming down being manual so what happens if you forget to put the wheels down.. you fall over? haha

  • That's like forgetting to put your leg out. Drivers simply change the legs-out movement to the thumb-flick one.

In addition, Peraves make sure all owners receive a thorough training in their vehicles before using them; and after 30 years of experience not one of them has had problems with the stabilizers.

The monotracer comes with a 25-years warranty (except for the powerplant, which is sourced from BMW and haves a 2 years warranty) That is quite a big commitment to build quality!

  • I wish Honda or someone would produce one,we could afford it,they could sell enought to lower the costs

  • zu teuer :(

  • Seriously, how do you get that thing back up again if you lay it down?

  • Thats pretty cool, would be a bummer if the wheels malfunctioned and didn't come down when you stopped lol!!

  • Make the cockpit slide back like a fighter jet, so you can have a convertible while riding when you want

  • future motorcycles look lame, the reason people ride is because they dont like the coffin feel of cars, all this is an estention of a car, with only 2 wheels, and some training wheels for the novice lol

  • That depends on how you define 'car' or 'motorcycle'.

I think the monotracer hits the hybrid sweet spot between the two.

You can lean it, and probably open some windows, and AFAIK, it has a lower center of gravity so it's more stable and possibly more manouverable.

Because it's enclosed, it's also safer than a bike and more comfortable, aerodanamic and economic than either a bike or, in some ways, a car.

Post a video here of the results if you ever get one and take the training-wheels off. ;)

  • you know i wish i could buy this car, but its not economic in any way. 50,000 pounds is not a little amount of money. i definately agree with what you said glomerol

  • This thing? I don't believe it's any safer than a motorcycle in a crash; it looks too fragile to offer any real protection.

All of the enclosed feeling of a car with the safety of a motorcycle... I don't know.

  • @ Kaltros

You have the world's greatest library right at your fingertips...

    From the site:

"The Peraves MonoTracer features a self-supporting composite-monocoque chassis thats made of kevlar and carbon fiber, bonded with epoxy-resin and reinforced with aluminum crash and roll bars."

If you want more safety, just walk or bike. ;)

  • I still prefer my motorcycle. Frankly speaking, in a wreck? I don't want to be trapped with the bike (and hard-candy shell aside, this is a bike).

Also, I can't imagine how the center of gravity on this could be "lower" than a motorcycle. Way more weight top-side.

  • I think there's also info on the center of gravity compared with typical bikes. I'll let you look for it. :)

Apparently it's effectively a recumbent and AFAIK, recumbents have lower centers of gravity.

  • Im seriously going to consider this as a graduation present.

  • yes yes build them build them let's step into the future!!!!

  • It looks better than the original design, but still looks ugly, especially the nose and the tail. But it is an awesome idea, i would definitely buy one.

  • lol i also read this in TFK (time for kids) OR (kids time magazine)

100 a year? THAT SUCKS atleast it looks cool rofl

looks like a futuristic car from the side exept it doesnt hover :D

  • i would prefer something like this that had more of a motorcycle riding stance while riding it.

  • i want to know the prize of this thing and if they are only going to make 100 every year in which place are they going to sell it europe, U.S.A., U.K where?

  • I read the "Kids Time Magazine" they only make 100 a year.

  • they only make 100 a year and that sucks

  • Its safer than a motorcycle... you wont fly out a and break ur skull with this

  • unless there is some sort of restraint system, you could still go flying into the inside of it and break your scull that way.

  • there is the car belt, but still you're right about breaking your scull. One will still need a helmet to ride this thing, since you will most probably hit your head in the side, although it's a lot more safe.

  • This is very cool, but noone should be fooled into thinking it's safer than a motorcycle. If you get hit by a car you're still screwed.

  • I want this... I've always wanted a motorcycle but my parents tell me its so unsafe and stuff like that... I'm curious, whats the safety like for this? What about the price tag? I don't expect to afford this for like another 30 years... by then though there will be something better.

  • Aluminum roll cage and kevlar. its in time magazine.

  • Lol if i won the lottery, I'd probably waste it on something like this. (not saying that it was money not well-spent though)

  • It had to be German. They know quality.

  • it's Swiss, the narrators German

  • Close enough.

  • What did that guy call my mom?!?!

  • Im surprised the major motorcycle companies haven't produced a affordable enclosed, cabin motorcycle, the timing is right. The stabilization wheels should be speed activated, speed sensor, etc, with a manual overide when circuit is open, shorted etc.

  • much better than the non-turbo ecomobile, now if they can just worked on the style of it, come on its 2008 make something sexy looking, then i would by one and if they can bring it down to about 15-20k would be super

  • reminds me of the audi R8

  • I was thinking the same. Similar right lights as well as that carbon rear side trim.

  • lol training wheels are flipped manually. Cant wait to see someone who will forget to slip the switch when stopping

  • Those are electric actuated wheels. For newer users, Peraves offers a set of FIXED training wheels that doesn't touch the ground, so if you forget to extend the side wheels the entire vehicle won't hit the ground.

  • Mind Blowing

  • itni bhi nhi hai.. Loser!!

  • Oh my God! Look at the Training Wheels! That is so COOOOOL!!!

  • can somebuddy translate tht in English??????????

  • it is very very fast, and has got to have a pilot to drive it!!

you cant get numberplates on this cuz you cant get license to dis

  • wrong idiot

  • lol dumbass .. :p !

  • the "landing gear" is fast! COOL!
