We have 403bs, 2 Roths, 401k and 457. From one account I have been selling some of my s&p shares for the last few months and will probably buy them back "on sale" when the markets hits another 1-2 thousand down which I anticipate. Groceries stores where I am have had awesome loss leaders/sales over the past couple months. Deflation in action. Buy up while things are cheap. I have enough TP for a year due to mega sales. The best beef with lowest fat content is on sale for a buck 99 a pound. 1.99 milk too the last month instead of 3-4 bucks. Use your food saver and get some great deals while they are still available on storable food. When inflation hits, prices will go up quickly again.

The corporations as well as the government are VERY good now at "cooking the books". If you see figures on the "news" about a downturn, experts say to at least double the figure.
The theft of U.S. "value" has just begun, just a tiny tip of the iceburg. There will be a couple of small false "rallies" this year, the largest probably around December. It won't be large but, enough to keep most fooled. Expect the DOW to reach about 3000 after that, possibly lower.

We have 403bs, 2 Roths, 401k and 457. From one account I have been selling some of my s&p shares for the last few months and will probably buy them back "on sale" when the markets hits another 1-2 thousand down which I anticipate. If it never happens, fine-I can handle that. But if it does I will get lots more shares cheaper to ride back up. Only problem with that theory is that it might go sideways for a decade or more. Haven't touched the other accounts and they have been hit by 40%.

4evrMT - be careful with gov't sponsored pensions. Since 403b, ROTH, 401k are tax exempt and therefore gov't sponsored, in a worst-case scenario it can be confiscated. Argentina is a great example.

What the gov't can do is say "Oh, the markets are too volatile and for your protection, you must dedicate 40% of your pension plan to US Treasuries and issue a 100% withdrawal penalty. Then you're stuck.
If it were me, I would ante the 10% penalty and take it out. But that's just me. I closed out my ROTH. I have a lot of money tied up in my 401k which I can't get at which frustrate me.

I understand what VV says about buying the metals as a hedge against inflation/crash of the dollar. If we lose the dollar altogether, you can sell your metals for any fiat that is out there essentially. But we will never use it as national currency. Bartering between 2 people is certainly possible, but businesses must have a currency to pay bills around the country. For example, your mortgage co will not take gold silver. Only currency. If ours fails, they will create another.

This is a man who dosn't even own a computer. While the world is falling apart he is making money. How did you do it I asked him on the phone. Same way I have since the 1950s he replied. When everyone is heading for the hills, I go to town. He came from a poor farming back ground, but hard work pays off. Its a law of averages he said & not a game for those with weak constitution. The ammunition counter at my Walmart here in California had a sign posted saying there was a ammunition shortage nationwide and they are 'working' on it. There was a trivial amount behind the counter,
A guy came up behind me and looked too, he said "oh this is getting worse I see"..

Yeah, I can't find pistol ammo in the local walmart and fleetfarm. Though I did buy some more for the shotgun. I think its mostly because we're buying like crazy compared to previous years. Maybe Federal or CCI are hiring?

Wondering if any of your viewers or yourself have seen the Youtube video: CSPAN Kanjorski. He talked about a draw down of money market accounts in US by 550 billion dollars. Can you make any sense of what he was saying because he didn't elaborate?? He stated that the global economy could have collapsed in 24 hours if the Fed hadn't intervened.

If the world is betting against gold, then it confirms how right it is. When the masses get slaughtered it will be the contrarians who come out smelling good. You may seriously believe a collapse is foolish, I believe it's very real, time will prove who is correct. You may want to buy just a few ounces of precious metals just in case. (I prefer silver). You probably don't expect to be killed any time soon, but I would bet you have life insurance. Be safe now, not sorry later.

We were in the the middle of the cold war with Russia and Iran was holding American hostages!
Reagan defeated communism/collapsed the USSR, freed the hostages from Iran, killed %21 interest rates and created 20 million jobs at the same time!!

Our Federal Reserve Notes are backed by Gold. Look at the TOP of the notes, it says right on there FEDERAL RESERVE. That means that the Federal Government backs them with the Reserves at the Federal Reserve. Get it? GOSH. Why do your commi haters think they called it the Federal Reserve. Don't forget the dry goods though. Rice, beans, flour, spices, dry dairy, dry-packed 30 year #10 cans, canned meats, vitamins, medications, etc. Plan for the long emergency which we are quite likely to have in the not too distant future. WE all want to stay healthy provided we are stil alive!

Groceries stores where I am have had awesome loss leaders/sales over the past couple months. Deflation in action. Buy up while things are cheap. I have enough TP for a year due to mega sales. The best beef with lowest fat content is on sale for a buck 99 a pound. 1.99 milk too the last month instead of 3-4 bucks. Use your food saver and get some great deals while they are still available on storable food. When inflation hits, prices will go up quickly again.
