It seems a little odd to watch this to me, since now big double and triple jumps or serious step ups are the norm and expected. I wonder what these guys would have thought if they were suddenly exposed to Laraccos leap with guys jumping basically a 5 story building 130' in length. I'm not sure even Magoo would have been insane enough to go for it with a 1980s mentality
@siral000 Two totally different eras of riders,bikes, and tracks. Would you have jumped LaRocco's Leap in 1984 on a '84 yz 490? Didn't think so. I wouldn't do it either.
The first year of David Bailey and Rick Johnson in the Open class. 1st year of water cooled Hondas. Disc brake front/ drum brake back. You can hear one random four stroke out there
now this ladies and gentlemen is motocross!!!!!!! 500cc 2 stroke monsters! and look at the track, u think these guys(maybe bubba and rc) could ride this track from back in the day?! no way!!

Long live the smell of bell ray, 2 strokes and Carlsbad Raceway... The 500 GP marked the beginning of summer for many many years...
