  • who is the singer of this song?

  • @ColossusCave

HARRY NILSSON HARRY NILSSON HARRY NILSSON !!!!

  • @Tanguynew08 thanks! and im sorry, i listened so much years in my life this song but never knew who is the singer, thanks!

  • @ColossusCave

No problem. That will teach me not to mention the reference of the song in the little presentation. I'm like you. Always have loved that song, that I was hearing in stores without knowing the title. Very irritating. And what a joy, to discover the film Midnight Cowboy and the song in it. At last !

  • when was this released?

  • wow this is awesome, I wish I was alive to be part of that easy living, long before the rat race of life, and the internet and the very raping of life by conservatives and the like who reap and suck the very marrow from living.

    Rex Harrison wow......

  • Well, sometimes, I'm nostalgic about the people I would have like to meet. But I do not think I am nostalgic of times gone by. I wasn't there to know if it was really that wonderful... Society back then was so repressed... It's very difficult to judge. There were happy few. They were few, for sure. Were they happy ? No heartbreaks and failures ? I don't think so. Better like the life we lead on. It's the only one, we'll ever get.

  • Sorry for replying again but i love this song and love black and white video reminds me of the past love Shirls xx

  • No offense, but the video is of poor quality. I'm sure that's because it's a copy of a copy of a copy, anf that the original amateur movies weren't of great quality to begin with.

  • Yes, that's quite true, the video is of absolute poor and rotten quality. But I thought, however, it was worth posting it, because of the hints we can have of what it was like to be with the Oliviers, in the 50ths, in Portofino on hollidays...

  • @edwardjames50 if you knew the original amateur vids were of poor quality to begin with, why even say anything. I never understood how saying something is poor quality that is nostalgic proves anything or is debatable, or what the point of saying the video is poor?

  • @nostromosil ~ Why not? Did I break some kind of cardinal rule?

  • @edwardjames50

its in black and white you tool. wtf do you expect

  • @humm1na ~ What does B&W have to do with quality? Lots of top quality films are not in color. You give away your ignorance with that remark; I guess you're one of those cretins who can't stand watching anything that isn't in color.

  • @edwardjames50

woooooowwwwww you said it was in poor quality to begin with you fucking tool. stfu your just as ignorant as the next guy you. lol hahaha talking hard on youtube trying to hurt with your superior knowledge, gtfo kid.

  • @humm1na ~ And may all the blessings of the holiday season be with you.

  • 1 2 3

  • A Brilliant Song and video love Shirlsxx

  • good song

  • there's a version of this with a female vocal has been played in Ibiza at Sa Trinxa, anyone know what it's called?

  • Thanks for that...btw, the song was used in Midnight Cowboy.

  • Fantastic song.

    who sings it?

  • Harry Nilsson, I think.

  • Well, i´ve just watched that clip, and i hardly find words. I´ve been to San Vigilio many times, it´s a breathtaking place. I had no idea, that Vivien Leigh has ever been there. I now know, where I will go next spring, over the weakend. Thanks for giving ma e new aim!

  • Yes, when they went to Italy, in the 50's the Oliviers always stayed at the Locanda San Vigilio, which doesn't seem to have changed over the years. You're lucky to be able to go there for the week end. And thanks for the nice comment.

  • It´s true, San Vigilio hasn´t really changed, of course now there´s more Tourism, but it´s still got that charme, which makes you think you are totally alone on earth.

  • Great video full of rare footage. Vivien adored Italy; I'm surprised she never purchased a home there.

  • I remember they had a big row with the British Government about taxes (there is a whole file somewhere), and Vivien, mostly, really threated to leave England and settle in Italy... So it was all quite very close. But I think it was nearly the end of their marriage, so...

  • this song reminds me of forrest gump and easy rider, lol.

    but i love them. <3

would you ever want to share your resources? i'd be much interested!

  • Beautiful video, like always. Thank you for sharing these images. Beautiful and dear Viv.
