  • i always watch this show all the i really liked this episode, thats because ive always had an extreme intrest in the country of Brazil,i really wanna go there one day,oh and one last thing does anybody know the music playing in the background its pretty catchy as well......none the less this is a great episode

  • I love the TV Show and he defined São Paulo very well!!!

  • Song at 2:25? sounds like house with bossa nova flava.

  • @jrsousa2, FYi The 5 largest countries with African diaspora outside of Africa are by rank, #1 Brazil 85.7 mil, #2 U.S. 38.5 mil, #3 Colombia 9.5 mil #4 Haiti 8.7 mil, #5 dominican Republic 8.0 mil. By your account, if only 3% of Brazillian population are of African descent then its Afro-Brazillian population will be less than 6 million. You cant be serious!

  • @tianzi49 About the black population in Sao Paulo, as a paulista I can tell ya that we are the most conservative full of shit state of the Brazilian Federation. Our African descents are kinda shy or revolted about their African heritage, because here in Brazil being black ironically means being an enemy of a racial democracy (that never existed). Beyond that, great part of African descents call themselves "morenos" or "mulatos", not blacks. That's why some statistics numbers are so low.

  • @jrsousa, please check Wikipedia under "African Diaspora" , Brazil has the largest population of people of African descentent in the new world at 85 million plus. That figure consitutes almost 48 % of the population of Brazil. I dont know where you got the 3% figure because if you look at the Brazillian socceer team it is almost entirely made up of Blacks. Please do more research will ya!

  • From what I hear, the demographic of Brazil is around 50% Afro-Brazillian. I mean just listen to the music from there and hear the confluences. Anthony is usually on the money and very hip/daring. However this segment was somewhat boring and Wonder bread-ish, basically a Country Club culture tour of the City.

  • @tianzi49 hell no, don`t be such an imbecile. according to wikipedia blacks make up only about 3% of the people in this country. as you know, brazilians descend from europeans, blacks and indians, but blacks are not the majority at all, except in bahia.

  • Brazilian are very nice people, one of the best in this world.

    Saludos desde Mexico

  • "It is not a beautiful city by any means, in fact to be honest with you, it is pretty dawn ugly. Big, crowded , with terrible traffic"

    LOL

  • Mortadela =P

  • love love love SP !!! Yes, it`s gray, crowded, busy, ugly. But you`ll never find a place like that !! Just go and experience SP. After 3 days you`ll discover a great city !

  • Paulistas hates carnival ..

  • I can't wait to go to Sao Paulo. That is the first place I am visiting.

  • Eu gosto do Brasil, a lingua ê a cultura brasileiras.

  • Sao Paulo is the worst city I've ever been.

  • @italodal why? i want to go there some day so i want to know bad things asswell..

  • @oujda040

The city is very very ugly. There aren't any beautiful natural landscapes, any monuments...the architeture is terrible. Trafic is awful, there are excessive air polution, the rivers are worst than sewers...It always raining and cloudy. The city is very grey and depressing. Brazil is a beautiful country, but you should avoid this city unless you want doing business or eating good food.

  • @italodal Sounds indeed like a terrible city. Well thank you for the information.

Im still planning on visiting Brasil but ill keep this info in mind.

  • @oujda040 Don't listen to him...São Paulo has a lot of problems, like any big city, but it can also be a really interesting place. It has one of the best night lifes in the world. Great places to eat and visit. And you don't need to rely on good weather to enjoy your time there as opposed to Rio and other places by the coast. Be open minded and you'll love it.

  • sem reservas!

  • Alguém pode enviar o link para Ruas??? Valeu!!

  • Bourdain is a lucky s.o.b.

  • I love all the music played in the background of this episode - do you guys know who the musicians are, etc. Will search in our local music stores.
