  • is this the same director that did the sweeney revival?

  • @frexspar76 No. This production, like the original, was directed by James Lapine. John Doyle directed the Sweeney Todd revival.

  • i love this..they were so great together...Vanessa is unbelievably into her role as a witch that its hard to picture that underneath those stuff, she is one of the most beautiful woman ever...

  • i looooove this song.

  • Ahh! I love it!!! Ooo. Can someone give me the lyrics for it? :3 Please?

  • I was wondering if some one could please give me the lyrics to this song in the musical. I am trying to find them somewhere in the internet but I can't.

  • This is a pretty good song but, I don't think it's necessary to the plot. And it just adds to the show's already long running time lol

  • Love the way they did this (:

  • This isn't a cut song, actually. It was written by Sondheim for the original London production and then subsequently used in almost every production of the show.

  • It wasn't cut. It was written when the London production started about 2 years later. It's like how they added "A Change in Me" to Beauty and the Beast for Toni Braxton.

  • I like this addition. It does add another layer to the Witch's and Rapunzel's relationship. This Rapunzel is also wonderful.

  • ohhhhhhhh so THATS where this song came from! i recently saw a production and i'd only ever heard the original broadway cast until then, so i was confused.

  • haha 0:22

  • If you listen closely, that was from a malfunction on the camera.

I like this song. Rapunzel sounds beuatiful!!

  • ahhh i love melissa. check her christine in phantom. xD vanessa roflcopter!

  • the tower looks alot better from a different angle its actually really cool looking you just cant tell from the quality of the vid

  • I love the revival rapunzel!

  • Yeah, I liked the voice from the original, but she looked kinda funky!!!

  • no she says if she just wouldnt drool! not if you just wouldnt drool! i am rapunzel in this

  • rapunzel's voice is perfect for the part

  • I wonder if Vanessa ever fell while climbing up the tower/book spine. That would kind of suck, wouldn't it?

Anyway, I love this song, but this is the only version of it I like.

  • You should seee the British version of this song.

  • that whole tower looks weird, even if it is a book's spine. did they only add in this song for the revival? where is it in the plot?

  • the song was added only in the revival

  • its in the beginning when they are explaining everyones stories. this song shoes the relationship between repunzel and the witch.

  • @wickedkdo94 It is in the plot when the the Narrator first shows Raunzel -have you seen the DVD? Instead of the (albeit hilarious) part with the Witch climbing the hair, they have the song AND that hilarious scene.

  • was this in the original show? I didn't see it on the dvd.

  • The song was aded for the original London production. It is now "optional" for other productions.

  • wat's that repunzel says at like 0:058 to 1:01 that the audience luaghs at

  • She says "if you just wouldn't drool".

  • I love this version of the song, the staging, the casting, I LOVED the revival. Yay.

  • I like this rapunzel and all of the actors are great, but i think the producers made a mistake in how they made the revival, it does not hold to the originals potential. NOT hate towards the actors, just dissappointment in the show level

  • Vanessa Williams is so GREAT in this song!

She's priceless when she says "perfect!"

  • the Rapunzel in the OBC's hair was so fake. melissa's looks so good.

  • I really love this Rapunzel. She has a great voice.

  • wow her tower totally sucks, a tube?...

  • It's the binding of a book.

  • How?

  • The tower is made out of a book's spine.

  • @MaskedLion OH i never saw it like that! that's neat!

  • @iloveeyouxoxo27 This set was pretty kickass actually, I wish the video did it justice. Most elements were constructed out of books and (in this clip, the tower is the spine of the book Repunzel)

  • Actually not that new--it was featured in the London production. I like it, and think it humanizes Rapunzel and makes the Witch a more well-rounded character.

  • Ooh a new song!
