Thank you,Feetmanica for sharing this video with us.Always great to see an early live performance of the Priest.I look forward to seeing them in the future on their farewell tour here in Southern California. The Metal Gods will always be rockin in my veins..
Could someone send me a tab on how to play the solo? No one seems to show how to play the intro and it's one of the most epic metal solos of all time.
@02tweeks Indeed! They were moving to a more heavier sound at this point. They still did a few of the 80's hits in their set at this time too though. I think 'Turbo Lover' was a regular.. A shame they didn't film and release this tour.
i actually liked the ram it down album of course everyone knows johnny b good was a load of bullshit and of course tht love song or sumthin was just plainbut it had some decent songs. my least fav album prob juglator burn in hell about the only good song from tht album
This album blew, and this was the best song from it.....Rob did an admiral job with this...he sounded on helium on the album so to get even close to it live was pretty impressive.....I saw this show in Chicago, Rosemont? I think...... they redeemed themselves with Painkiller......their best album
i seen this tour in 1988 at irvine medows ca. slayer opened up for them. when the lights went out every person rushed the stage i was 8th row i slammed this guy jumping over the seats from behind me into the chair in front of me as he was going by he screamed fuck yaa and crawed over 6 more seats and jumped into to pit it was crazy ,when judas priest came on they almost herded the crowd back everyone flicked there lighters on first song was the ripper his voice was awsome
I believe his official classification is a low tenor with a high falsetto. (An EXTREMELY HIGH falsetto!) In his heyday he had nearly 4 octaves at his command.
Halford may not be the best singer, but that guy Glenn Tipton, he is the best guitarist in the world in my opinion. Just listen to that solo, its out of the world!
Saxon? Haha xd They don't deserve to be mentioned with bands like Judas priest and Iron Maiden. The trio is, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, of course, not Saxon xD They're great, but not in that league. They fit better in with Manowar, Helloween etc etc.
i seen this tour 1988 irvine meadows ca . slayer opened up for judas priest when slayer came on everybody rushed the stage from the very back of the audiance i was 8th row it was crazy the slam pit was bizare when judas priest took the stage the ushers finally got some of the people back too their seats people mellowed out for priest great concert
Slayer took over the opening slot a week after I saw the tour in St Louis. Our opener was Cinderella. They took 2 very different bands out with them for this tour.

Oh fuck 'Heavy Metal' is one of the best songs Priest have ever made. Why it's so damn underrated????? This song is on 'Ram It Down' album. Few song on 'RID' were numers that sort of introduced the sound they wider developed on the legendary 'Painkiller' album. One of it is 'Heavy Metal' the other is 'Ram It Down'. They should remind us this classic on some future tours if only Rob is still able to perform this.
Saw them on this tour, with Slayer opening. Don't care for the Ram It Down album but they brought back songs they hadn't played in a while. Rob's voice was in top form.
