Most people don't know this, as it was cut from the game but originally there was a fight sequence where Chuck Norris fights the knights from the intro. With one roundhouse kick, he sends them flying to the orbit, and one knight's mace happened to fly there, imbued with aura of Awesomeness emanating from Chuck.

the Chuck Norris-sequence was cut because the fight was too short and easy as it couldn't been lost and was won with one swing.

The Mace is rumored to be the main villain in ICO3.

On PAL i belive that the first time you play through you get a mace - the second time, you get a lightsaber, but its a strange one. When only Ico holds it, its small and pathetic - however, when the female holds his hand, it extends to a ridiculous length... but most people probably knew that already.

Probably been posted before, but a cheaper way to do it is not press the switch at first but dump the ball where the hoop is going to be (there's kind of an outline on the ground) and then hit the switch. The hoop will rise with the ball already in it and you get your mace.
