  • Bad idea to cover One after Mr. Cash.

  • Bella e struggente, ma è impossibile superare l'originale-

  • Woooow. Beautiful, truly beautiful <3

  • @sk8aleksk8 U2 definitely did the original.

  • @sk8aleksk8 No U2 definitely made the original but Mr. Cash did cover the song.

  • @sk8aleksk8 U2 made the original. There's a whole story behind the band almost splitting up, and coming back together to record this song.

  • @sk8aleksk8 I'm sorry but there's this thing called Google. Use it.

  • @sk8aleksk8

    Get out much?

How can you not know this is U2's song????

  • loved it.

  • This sucks. Johnny Cash still did the best cover of One that I ever heard.

  • I really don't see what all the critique is about......it sounds amazing

  • don't like this version-I wish Dave Gahan were singing that song.

  • this singer sounds like he has the bug (AIDS)

  • This was the cover I was most looking forward to on this album, but, much as I like the ending, the rest is disappointingly dull.

I realise it's very much in Damien Rice's style, but what works for some of his songs, doesn't really work for this.

Guess I was hoping for more of a Rootless Trees or Amie vibe...

  • Johnny Cash´s One cover should have appear in this album...

  • Impossible to cover a song like "One". But this original 6/8 arrangement is not so bad.

  • very intimate... the real taste of One... (fuck Mary J Blige)

  • This is good, but I still prefer Johnny Cash's cover.

  • @defcon10000 yes

  • Much better than Mary J Blige's annoying cover. At least Damien isn't screaming like an out of key banshee.

  • @fmallis Bono himself could be desribed the same way! MJB's duet with Bono on this song was an expression of the soul music that inspired U2 to make The Joshua Tree and Rattle&Hum, and a passionate rendition that transcends key. This version is maybe more true to the original's tone and I like it as well. Well done.

  • Cover version's are not meant to compete with the original's. They're meant to put another slant on the songs.

  • @gordonu2

After listening to these songs it becomes apparent of how much U2 is just on another plane in time and space.

At no point in this cover album does anyone come remotely close to U2's energy level, and these are some pretty good artists on here.

  • @guyinjeep16 Excellent point

  • is stupid or what ?.... NOW ! shuuuutttt noowwwww PUFFFFFF damien is dead.

  • In my humble opinion, no cover version of this song can ever be as good as the original.

  • srsly? no comments? One is like, U2's most popular song...

  • @TheOriginalTripman I guess they have listen to DM cover... Is good tou but not enogh... Regards
