  • hey Brandon, i have a question for you. i just had to reload a laptop after it craped out on me. trying to decide on virtual dj or back to pcdj. the only question i have is how to search for songs on VDJ. i have a hard-drive with over 100.000 songs on it. i downloaded the trial of VDJ and cant seem to get the hang of the search. is there something that needs to be done with the mp3 files before you can do any searches.??

  • Got Damn... I miss vinyl.. Everything was so much easier...

  • Waz up? I'm VDJ and i wanna know is there a way to store VDJ on the exturnal drive with sound effects and samples I added and can you run VDJ str8 from the exturnal drive? Holla Back

  • One more thing you left out. If your going SATA to USB you are transferring at USB speeds. Not 3GB a sec. You need an ESATA connection for that. You basically just gimped two SATA drives to run at USB speeds from what I see.

  • I know wait till you see my USB 3.0 setup

  • 2 TB? I have thousands of videos and over 40K MP3s and I'm using 750GB.

  • I carry 4 TB with me, I have spent a lot of money on Rhapsody,Promo Only, and iTunes

  • Hey Brandon, I should be able to find these parts at Tiger Direct right?

  • I made one of these hard drive and it worked perfectly thanks brandon for the great tips keep them coming. dj big I

  • Whats the specs on the seagate?Found some online but not sure which is the right one.

  • Its better to use a hard drive with its own power. If it gets its power from the usb port alone it slows down your laptop. Computer tech told me that.

  • Also... i wouldnt recommend this for all DJ's. Most DJ's would benefit from having to plug in an extra power cable... so a bus powered 2.5" usb drive would be better. You can get them up to 500gb and you can get them at 7200rpm which is the same speed of the larger 3.5" drives. The bonus is you dont have to plug in a power supply every time you go somewhere.

  • Thats cool I also have usb power HDD but they are not big enough I need 2 TB HDD

  • 2 TB how much music do u have?

  • 32mb buffer does NOT mean it transfers at 32mb/sec. A 32mb buffer is definitely better than a 16mb buffer but the speed isnt calculated by the buffer.

  • looks like its just a usb connection though? i would try to get something like it with an esata connection

  • I have no problems with this setup

  • Great advice!!! Thanks for the idea.

  • You used the word "DJ" 6 times in your title, lol.

  • Track name at 4:00?

    Thanks

  • Armin Van Burren

  • Do you have the track name?

Sorry for the bother and thanks

  • looks good keep coming vids like this!

  • whats the total price for this particular HDs.?

  • Great Vid! I was just thinking about upgrading my drives and think I'll go this route!

  • I use seagates also remember the 5 year warranty can not beat that

    DJ A-L

  • Thats what are in these cases and they have a 5 year warranty on them to

  • Good one,,,, Thx

  • great idea !

  • question, how about the WD 1TB essential books,I have one with 320gig foe music and need to get another one like 1TB for my vids... WD seems pretty good, but what would you recomend me for vids only???

  • i used western digital 320 portable hard drive to run for my serato aswell and its pretty good,

  • Nice I need to build one or two from Scratch also

    Thanks DJ Mikey Mike

  • Knowing Mikey Mike you'll probably literally build one from scratch with circuit boards and other random HD components. lol
