@roji556 MMM is OP tbh they should remove/nerf the medivac. It was way too high tech for terran and having a flying dropship which heals is just too good. On brood war, the medics were ground units with less hp which couldnt drop units...... thats why they were OK. And also, they made sense as medics. Beaming down healing makes no sense and is completely inconsistent with terran being lower tech than protoss.
@AEgamesFtw Stop whining MMM is strong but the protoss have many things that they can do too counter that. It's OP to you cuz you dont know how to beat it.
Now I'm finally realizing whats going on. Does anyone else noticed that the ambient lighting color in the SC2 Alpha for Kulas Ravine is blue/coolish color while in the real game its Red-Orange/Afternoon color?
Or maybe that is because the map follows by a player's computer time clock?
Man....I can't wait till I can play this at ultra settings. Playing SC2 with WoW graphics is such an insult...T_T

Everything has changed so much. All for the better. Though, I do like the old warping animation a little better. I like the swirly light that goes around it as the pylon warps.
Blizzard still would have revolutionized gaming with this build alone.
I wish they had kept the thing that shows what parts are damaged when certain hp has been lost, one thing I really miss from SC1. Yes, it doesn't really help but just for cosmetic look :)

Hell yeah! Terrans are FTW. Marines are the best! THey may not do as much damage as Hellions or Marauders, but I'd like to see a Hellion chomp a cigar like a Marine!
Honestly, I thought this game was awesome. But, having seen this.. the terrans have too much of an early advantage thanks to those f-ing marauders. I'm watching this being more and more Pissed at the terrans every second. I don't WANT to play the terrans.. I'm tired of normal human tech. I want Protoss or Zerg..
Given I'm not very good at this style of game otherwise, I can't see the point of buying it now. I'd be fodder easy, against people that played a lot. :(
@MonolithTyriss yes you will have a hard time at the beginning and that is because there are a lot of people like me who have been playing starcraft 1 since 1998. and the terrans don't rly have something of an early advantage... but you can't obviously know that, because you haven't been playing the beta
@MonolithTyriss and you have to remember that this is very old stuff. you should check out the channels from "hdstarcraft" and "huskystarcraft" there you'll find replays from the beta and of course you should, as a beginner, watch a couple of replays and try to copy the play style from some high ranked gamers to improve your gameplay
after watching this game and seeing how the microing and macro is very similar too Dawn of War Dark Crusade, I'm proud to say that i will buy this game and that i will be comfortable playing it. :)
@Zulluhead They may be masterpieces, but with Dawn of War THQ has created its own masterpiece. Though the styles of play for each are significantly different. Having said that I am a hardcore fan of both franchises, both have their strengths, and can not wait for this game to come out.

I'm still new to Starcraft so I don't know all the controls. That being said, how in the hell is he able to build at the same time being able to harass and go around the map without having to worry about looking at his base? If anyone could help me out with this, I think it will be easier on me to be able to play SC2 better.
@llldeceptionlll It's called multitasking. It's what many rts players learn to do. You pretty much master the key presses and do a lot of things (pan at your base, back to battle, expand, etc.) in the same cluster of seconds with no problem. Base, economic, and building type managing is called macro management. Where as commanding your units in a battle is called micro management. Also, there's a thing called apm which is actions per minute which is how many actions players can execute in 1 min.
@DaFleegsta Yeah, I've just got to get used to the controls and learn to play the right way. I'm still stuck in this rut where I'm using the arrow keys to move my camera around. I'm sure if I were able to customize my keymapping I could get better at it. I've always had a different way of controlling my games.

I don't know if you've ever even played an rts before, but your view on the map isn't the whole map.

I'm still new to Starcraft so I don't know all the controls. That being said, how in the hell is he able to build at the same time being able to harass and go around the map without having to worry about looking at his base? If anyone could help me out with this, I think it will be easier on me to be able to play SC2 better.

@llldeceptionlll It's called multitasking. It's what many rts players learn to do. You pretty much master the key presses and do a lot of things (pan at your base, back to battle, expand, etc.) in the same cluster of seconds with no problem. Base, economic, and building type managing is called macro management. Where as commanding your units in a battle is called micro management. Also, there's a thing called apm which is actions per minute which is how many actions players can execute in 1 min.

@DaFleegsta Yeah, I've just got to get used to the controls and learn to play the right way. I'm still stuck in this rut where I'm using the arrow keys to move my camera around. I'm sure if I were able to customize my keymapping I could get better at it. I've always had a different way of controlling my games.

@lolcakewut I don't understand what you mean by panning. All i said was panning the camera view to different places on the map, as well as keeping your micro and macro management up, is all part of multitasking, which is a skill greatly valued in many competitive rts games.

@lolcakewut Ok i still don't understand what the fuck your saying. Panning is not bad and not slow, if you don't change your view on the game field you won't know what's going on. It doesn't take alot of time, it's as fast as you can click on the minimap, drag the screen with arrow keys or mouse, and/or jump to the location with a hotkey press linked to a unit/building in the destination. I don't know if you've ever even played an rts before, but your view on the map isn't the whole map.

@DaFleegsta I have played many RTS games, hence why I can tell you, you flaring retard, that panning is SLOW. You move your view to where the action is dumbass, meaning hotkeys and clicking on the minimap.
You're probably fucking terrible at any RTS game, especially Starcraft (orginal and 2).

You can scroll (mouse/arrow keys), you can hotkey to something in the area, you can click the minimap, etc. Seriously you are a real fuckin noob learn how to play and stop embarrassing yourself.

Moving around with the minimap and hotkeys is much faster than moving your mouse to the edge of the screen, or using arrow keys.
