  • Yes, looks like they destroyed what made it xcom to appeal to children with adhd. I hate what games have become...

  • I think Xenoshock would be a better name and help this game save face. Those fucking idiots...

  • This game has nothing to do with Xcom, it looks like Ghostbusters: The Video Game on the Source engine with aliens.

  • @Turtleproof That is why Firaxis is making X-COM: Enemy Unknown. That is probably a truer remake to you classic X-COM fans.

  • @Turtleproof wow!..you nerds are fucking upset!..lmfao..there making two games calm the fuck down..

  • @HolyHavoc444 they're.

  • @HolyHavoc444 This game would probably have done better in it's own right. By using the name of a well known and, most importantly, well loved franchise, for a game which explicitly has no relation to the original continuity is, of course, going to alienate any fans of the original game.

This is the complete opposite of the core reason behind using an existing franchise name. Firaxis is making a more palateable remake, but 2K marin shot themselves in the foot with this merchadising tactic.

  • 2k's motto: " So many cows, so little time."

  • @XcomTanki This, oh so much. They really stumbled on some magical formula of fun when they made xcom, for the amiga, in 1994. How did games lose their way? How did we end up with Bros of War and Modern Brownfare: Mediocrity 3? I felt a far stronger emotional response when a stray heavy plasma shot struck Jurgen Hamburger down while he was making a dash across the hallway of an alien ship to apply first aid to Scott Neil, the rookie I couldn't afford decent armor for.

  • Looks like what they did with Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

  • "I use the example of music artists. Look at someone old school like Ray Charles. If he would make music today it would still be Ray Charles, but he would probably do it more in the style of Kanye West," he said. "Bringing Ray Charles back is all fine and good, but it just needs to move on, although the core essence will still be the same."

    -Christoph Hartmann

You tossed aside the chance to remake a legitimately good game so you could whore X-Com out to the "new generation" gamers.

    I hate you

  • @HitsoSdan 2k called, they told us to "Shut up and get to the rest home, it's all skateboards and iPods now!"

  • It's LA Noire meets Bioshock...

  • Fallout 3 was quite true to Fallout. What was missing from Fallout 3? Groin shots. That's about it.

This Abomination has nothing to do with X-com, and I hope the building where they're making this game at burns down. With everyone inside it still.

  • @RandominityFTW Strictly speaking, one of the other differences between FO3 and the prior FO games was that the Brotherhood of Steel wasn't a bunch of xenophobic assholes (which, if you think about it, is kind of an improvement). They also "changed" the Super Mutants (later revealed to be a completely different variant entirely and the general aesthetic (Capital Wasteland is a horrendous, well, wasteland). However for all that it was STILL in keeping with the FO spirit, which was good.

  • @MichaleZombie You can bring up Fallout 3 if you want but that's apples to uranium isotopes.

Fallout 3 justified itself with familiar lore, characters, and well-known hallmarks of its design.

XCOM justifies nothing; keeps no lore, art, or character; discards hallmarks and slaps their names on vaguely related things. Fallout 3 courted Fallout; XCOM simply replaces X-Com from bolts to paint.

The gameplay disagrees with its own design goals, the puzzles are tacky... I only see dark clouds.

  • 2K,

This game looks nice but seriously, rename it or incorporate something nice for the fans of UFO Defense (and a simple apology would be optional, yet thoughtful). If you continue to bring XCOM into the direction it's going, I will never support you or your games for as long as live.

  • welp, another game I don't have to buy.

  • I am a massive fan of x-com and even though I am dissapointed that this will not be like the old games, I have to say I am looking forward to it, it looks great seems to capture the sort of unkown alien threat feeling rather well and its a reboot kinda like Fallout 3 was to the original fallout games. Don't knock it until your played it and besides there are a few open source games based off the original that can fill in all your nostalgic needs, while this will spear head the future!

  • @serventaprime FO3 kept many elements from the original series, though, like the setting, lore, art direction and such. This game keeps.... the alien motiff. And that's it. It has much more in common with Mass Effect than with X-com. It's kind of funny that they plan on releasing this trainwreck on the same day as ME as well. Maybe that's a good excuse for shareholders once it tanks "it was a good game guys, seriously, but everyone went for ME instead..."

  • @FeanorBR Thats true, but it still looks like a good game in its own regards. I think most people seemed ticked that its using the X-Com license and not using a new name for the game. But alot of the hate for this game was kinda the same that Fallout 3 had prior to been released. Alot of die hard fans hated the new look and the fact that it was first person. In the end it turned into a great game.

  • @serventaprime At least fallout still had elements from the originals, so the name makes sense. XCOM, however, does not. Also Fallout 3 is not just a rung and gun FPS, it's an FPS / RPG hybrid that even keeps a similar combat system to the original (if you use VATS). Think of it this way - If we could shift the camera to a bird eye's view or isometric perspective, wouldn't it start looking that much more like the original games?

  • @FeanorBR "If we could shift the camera to a bird eye's view or isometric perspective, wouldn't it start looking that much more like the original games?" Not really, no. It'd look more like Company of Heroes. Or DoW2.

  • @Firgof It would look more like fallout than this abomination looks like x-com, that's for sure

  • Xcom was the first game I played on PC, I loved stayin up for hours doing terror missions, but this looks like shit. Shame on you

  • This is looking pretty bad.

  • They could have avoided pretty much all of the backlash if they'd just created a new IP. It looks interesting enough (at least to me) and has a good developer. It has a bit of a Singularity feel at the moment.

  • Look guys, I'm a huge fan of the original. The times I've had fighting Sectoids were among the best of my video gaming life.

But that's not to say that this is a terrible-game. Even though it might not look or feel the same, I think this just looks cool for it's own reason. So you might go on about how it betrays the original and how they should be 'shown the first'. Well, maybe they're splitting away from what X-COM used to be, but we should at least give it a chance before criticizing it.

  • @gmatthew0 We've been giving it chance after chance for more than a year now. It just keeps disappointing.

  • @gmatthew0 I saw knee high indestructible walls, a linear mission, human team members (and player character) who took MULTIPLE shots from alien weapons without so much as blinking, WITHOUT wearing any armor.

doesn't look like XCOM to me, looks like a 1950s aesthetic applied to a Mass Effect clone.

  • Did anybody at 2K games ACTUALLY play the original X-com?

  • 50'-s cool - metalic aliens .. BAD

WE NEED SECTIOIDS, AQUVATIODS, SNAKEMAN, LOBSTERMAN ETC.

  • The problem is not that this is an FPS...

The problem is IT'S NOT X-COM AT ALL, it hasn't got the feeling at all -.-"

OK make an FPS it's ok with me (i do like Bioshock)... but with this name you have some reponsiblity ... don't do thing like metalic aliens and such ... it's a crap.

  • well i think, 2k has spit in the x-com fans faces with this ...

    oh man i'm so sad ... Y U SUC AN IDIOTS AT 2K ...

Please someone show them X-com 1 and 2

    Thank you -.-"

  • We need Citizen Skywatch!

  • @TheSchaffman I'd go with something from Rolex, personally. The finish on Citizen's Skywatch series scuffs and wears in no time at all, the design is tacky as hell, and I've heard that they use cheap sectoid labour and that their glow-in-the-dark dials are made with element 115, which, as you should know, decays into antimatter at a moment's notice - not something you want near your wrist.

  • I think the game and plot have a very very intriguing plot, granted the graphics could use a couple tweaks, then again this isnt the final product. Definately gonna give it a try.

  • i don`t understand everyones problem with this yes its a fps type game with rpg like systems. reminds me a bit of fallout 3 (but then in the 1960 and not post- a-bom)

would i like a rts remake sure, am i going too hate on something i know nearly nothing about becaus they made it a fps no. lets see some gameplay, real gameplay and then i`ll say if its good or not

  • I'm from Elkhart, IN! Awesome!

  • Wow. leave it to the whiny entitled gamers to completely ignore everything about the actual game because of it's name.

  • @TheDoctorisin2181 It's a reboot of XCOM that has nothing in common with the game we know and love. Of course we're gonna rageshit about it. It looks LESS FUN. However, that doesn't mean the game can't stand on it's own merits, but from hat they've shown so far, it looks like Mass Effect with a coating of 1950s paint.

  • Annnnnd now they're trying to viral market themselves some sales of this piss-poor mangling of the X-Com name.

I mean, for crying out loud, Jagged Alliance is getting a faithful HD remake, why can't they do something similar for UFO: Enemy Unknown?

  • @PSpold Sorry, that should be Jagged Alliance 2.

  • Citizen Skywatch.

  • Nice way to get more people to buy it. I think I'll buy Blizzard and make a NEW game called, hmm, World of Warcraft! It's actually just gonna be a crappy tetris game.

  • I won't hit the dislike button until I've had a chance to see the final product. Consider it a 'like" if it feels true enough to the old UFO Defense to purchase it and not rent. I sincerely hope this is not just another dime-a-dozen FPS.

  • @gravanox I said the same thing about Black ops

  • What is this rubbish of a trailer you call a game 2K?

You should of named this something else. Why you decided to switch the games playing perspective from RTS to FPS is beyond me or anyone. It's a silly stunt. You would earn a lot more respect from consumers and a lot more cash income through sales if you kept XCOM to its true characteristics. You could of done so much for a new revamped XCOM RTS game, hell, even I can think of so much concepts that would make a hell of a good XCOM reboot.

  • So, what the f*ck happened to this idea: watch?v=JdVb4UnqO7A ?? I think it was a lot of better because it was something original, something never seen before, and this thing i see now is just a regular fps...

  • You're right, Masterblze0. BioShock is in fact a dumbed down version of BioShock.

  • This is not X-COM. Way to **** over the X-COM fanbase. You get the rights to the series only to make an FPS? Really? Leave the FPS stuff to franchises that are already that. You don't turn a strategy game into an FPS. That'd be like making Civilization an FPS, it just doesn't make sense.

  • @XsupadumbassX Dude, did you go through and reply to every comment from like 2 months ago? Dude there are other games out there, let this thing develop while you play terraria or team fortress man :P Also: The fanbase giving a game shit for homosexuallity is truly pathetic.

  • this is bad..real bad

  • Well to those who never played the original X-Com, this looks cool. To those who have played the original X-Com before, this is an abomination.

I didn't enjoy the original X-Com because of the action, hell no. They're missing the whole point. It's not about the aliens. It's not about the cool weapons. Its all about resource management, growing your tech, upgrading everything, keeping the nations happy to fund you. The strategy!

This isn't honoring X-com's memory. This is pissing on it's grave.

  • Why the hell didn't they just remake the originals? They were fucking awesome. This isn't even X-Com.

  • Wow, that's ugly. Seriously, couldn't you at least use Swat 4's engine? The combat looks pretty lackluster too, but I'm hoping this was a rushed trailer without any good footage to work with. I really hope this isn't going to be another mindless run-and-gunner or Call of Duty clone.

  • Yes lets release our piece of shit game on the same day as Mass Effect 3, absolute fucking geniuses.

  • @JackWalters920

UFO: Enemy Unknown IS the original XCOM game, you idiot. And the point isn't 'isometric alien slaughter', it's the entire style of game. The original XCOM was an incredibly involved game, with base building, technology research and manufacture, resource management... The list goes on, and that doesn't even include the strategy and tactics of the actual combat (which the above affect greatly). I hope this game tanks for 2K trying to cash in on the XCOM name. It's insulting.

  • @IdiotsAmongUs Why do companies not recognize what made the original games of a series successful and try to build on them? This new xcom looks exactly as many have said, including you:a blatant cash in, giving the series a bad name. They could have kept it an FPS if they made it heavily involved in strategy, and kept it more focused on squad and base building, but kept the immersive nature of an FPS by keeping you in the shoes of one character in command.

  • @IdiotsAmongUs Agreed, it's only called XCOM in the states because when they originally attempted to release it here there was already another game called UFO (Some crappy flight simulator) About the only thing this game has going for it from what I can see is the aesthetics. Otherwise it looks like a combination Mass Effect/Gears of Brown rip off.

  • F@g-com: Paging Dr. Qweir

  • funny thing with this, they probably stuck Xcom to the title to get it to sell better.

in truth, people would probably like it if it wasn't called xcom

  • looks like shit

  • This is a double failure. Xcom fans won't play it because it's not a strategy game, FPS fans won't play it because it looks terrible, and the market is already FLOODED with excellent FPS games. Hopefully the developers will take the 865 dislikes to heart and not waste our time with this crap.

  • @SpraxIAKS Umm, yeah because like I already said, the market is already flooded with excellent FPS games. I need another FPS like I need another hole in my head. There is no need for mediocre FPS games, there are already so many.

  • @SpraxIAKS It's coming out the same day as Mass Effect 3. Think about that for a moment.

  • @Firgof To logical side of me that says, "Well that's going to hurt their sales." To the personal side of me all I'm going is, "FUCK MASS EFFECT!"

    ..Yeah

  • its fallout all over again, this shit needs to stop whats next?? a first person planescape torment, an arcanum shooter (troika could have pulled it off though)

  • @Vladutz2000

Troika was a very good game developer. Why do all of the game developers that actually know how to make a game where you do more than just run around and shoot things get bought out.

I blame the new generation. A little child gets his grubby little hands on a Call of Duty, and suddenly only shooting games will make him stop crying.

I don't hate on Call of Duty. I hate on the idiots who worship Call of Duty.

Please be sure your IQ is a positive number before replying.

  • @XsupadumbassX i was talking about troika because, honestly i think they did the only isometric to fps that didn't sucks was true to the series and they actually wanted to do a first person arcanum, journey to the centre of arcanum.

the new generation is partially to blame honestly, its the developers fault they only release rehash after rehash after rehash and as soon as they put a gimmick they gobble it like crazy and praise it like some innovative super game (looking at bioshock)

  • @Vladutz2000 the new gamers fault is that they are not critical enough they will do anything to justify the purchase theyir parents make but trust me as soon as these kids are gonna work for theyre money i don't think they will all line up to buy call of duty 45 one more gun and some perk gimmicks hey just imagine if deus ex or system shock 2 or even bloodlines gets released today... anyhow my point is if developers do a good game they are gonna buy it and love it

  • @Vladutz2000 there is a reason why fallout new vegas sold more than fallout 3

  • @Vladutz2000 What?

BioShock got praise because it was a very solid, well-written, excellently atmospheric game that made a lot of people look more into the history of FPSes and gaming in general to find games like System Shock, Deus Ex, etc...

You shouldn't be so quick to make arching statements when you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @Masterblaze0 hate to break it to you, but bioshock is just a dumbed down rehash of system shock2

  • @Vladutz2000 And I hate to break it to YOU, but BioShock ISN'T just a dumbed down rehash of System Shock 2. While yes, it shares a few common elements to System Shock 2 (Namely the RPG elements, basic plot setup, etc), there's very little that the two games actually have in common. I wish people would stop expressing the sentiment that BioShock is a dumbed down System Shock.

And like it said, it got people, myself included, interested in a lot of older games such as System Shock and Deus Ex.

  • @Masterblaze0 what rpg elements, basic plot setup its the same thing you wake up in a mysteryous place that has gone to hell and you are helped by a ,,survivor,, the gameplay is the same minus the inventory stats and so on

  • @Masterblaze0 The problem with this game isn't that's it's a rehash of anything else, although Bioshock traits are too HEAVILY being used.

It's that they're using the name of an excellent, if extremely difficult, isometric turn based strategy series with it's own built in lore, which is rich in detail and mystery, and supplanting it with something that's far less interesting. More plausible? Maybe, but it loses the challenge of multiple base management and the extremely tight budget.

  • @Masterblaze0 A lot of people dislike the fact that it won't be a strategy game, but even more are justly upset about the fact that the lore of an excellent game series is being ignored simply because the developers don't want to be associated with an 'old' series. I certainly don't want to pay for an X-com game that has nothing to do with the plot of the original series.

This game would receive much more pre-release respect if it was named something else.

  • In short, it feels like the developers are trying to attract buyers by using a good series name for the sake of their own projects. This game, on it's own merits, seems interesting enough, but the name will gall anyone who's played the original games (even Enforcer, ugh) and seen the trailer. Or if they read the back of the game box.

  • Gee, thanks for utterly destroying one of the best games ever and thanks for dumbing everything down so that even retarded consoles can run it.

Also, to the 420 people who liked this vid - go back to your Call of Duty and have a happy ninth birthday! Just think, in a year you will be a whopping ten and daddy will buy you CoD 9 and a DNF expansion pack!

  • they so pissed that we dont like that crap, so they ban all who says that in xcom forum. gz, i will not buy this game definatly, maybe i take it from friend piratebay to look what crap they made.

  • Way to go 2K... for screwing up a great game's legacy

  • 2K: Why didn't you guys just develop a strategy game (like the original X-Com series) and sell it on XBLA/PSN/Steam for $15-20? Development costs would be low, profit could be high as the market is huge and the IP is already established with the 25-40 year old crowd of gamers who have enough disposable income to not even blink at an X-Com game in that price range. Herp derp making another FPS instead.

  • Yeah, I think I'll be taking a pass on this.

  • Strategy games not contemporary = Don't work well on consoles, dumb down the shit out of it.

Fuck you 2k. Hope your fucking game sinks.

  • What a travesty, seriously... Developer: "Oh but don't judge it till you play it, really it's going to be awesome!" Me: "Is it an FPS?" Developer: "Yes..." Me: *smack to the head* "what the HELL is wrong with you? No interception, no turn based strategy, different aliens, different time period, FPS, "maybe" base building (!?), an "origin story" (!?!?!?). Btw if you are going to set your game in the 50s why did you hire Michael Bay's alien designer? Why NOT greys? It's the 50s! Moron!..."

  • Homoshock: Paging Dr. Qweir

  • Didn't they already try this with X-Com Enforcer???

I have all the X-Com games to date but I always go back to the original X-Com Enemy Unknown.

All you had to do was tart up the graphics and AI, add a couple of new features etc. and not only would it run on old machines but it'd be great. It would have sold so many.

Might give this one a miss.

  • @FuManBoobs Well said.

  • Horrible. 2KGames, just stop making this abomination of a project and perhaps fire some people involved in its conception. No one likes it, even less (yes, less than 0) people will buy it. As suggested, a proper remake of the original would be infinitely more appreciated by everyone. Stop wasting everyone's time. Thanks.

  • XCOM: Attack of the Demoscene?

  • I wanted a strategy. But yknow what? If they get the two core concepts of what made XCOM 1 great... Fighting aliens to gain and reverse engineer their tech, and city raids that were incredibly difficult to deal with, then an FPS port can work pretty well here. If they pull it off...

  • @AndyTheIrateAnt

They won't. I can almost guarantee a swing and a miss. The one thing 2K is good at is butchering good games with shitty sequels.

Their only enjoyable game I have played is Bioshock. And they even killed their own series by making Bioshock 2. There are so many plot holes in the second one you could fill the game case with water and use it to garden.

  • It's not complicated. Re-make the original game using 2011 graphics and AI. The Civilization series comes out with an updated and improved version of what's essentially the same strategy game every few years and is a huge success, why has it been 15+ years and I'm still stuck playing the original x-com!? X-Com is the greatest game I've ever played, and I've played them all.

Would Sid Meier let some idiot game company turn Civilization into a FPS? This is an abomination!

  • BETRAYAAAAL!!!!!!

    (c)

  • @vorjay: Nope but imagine if you were all stoked to play the latest Halo installment and it turns out that they stripped out all first person shooter aspects and turned it into a Halo themed version of the Risk boardgame. Wouldn't that piss you off?

  • Honestly, I have a feeling this will be a pretty great game in its own right. Of course, I can see why X-Com fans are pissed. Deus Ex is my favorite game ever, and I would be pissed if Deus Ex: Human Revolution were a strategy game, regardless of how awesome a strategy game it ended up being.

  • It's the anti spirals! Call in Gurren Lagann!

  • THIS GAME IS HOMOSHOCK. search more info about this in xcom forum.

  • Somewhere in the evolution of games, developers or their financiers came to believe FPS was the end be all, and now... almost any game we see is "just another shooter".

Even the cherished/cult status tactical games are turned FPS, because FPS is the "uberiffic end be all".

    *sigh*

Oh well, it could be worse, the developers and financiers could have believed the Tetris model was the uber, and turned all games into Tetris games....

  • This game will need greater suspension of disbelief to feel plausible because of its historical setting but non-historical ufo's and aliens while the original X-Com tapped into the UFO zeitgeist immeasurably well. If they'd gone with the Greys, with Roswell, Betty and Barney Hill, the Hopskinville Goblins, Mothman etc then it would have been a truly epic X-Com game. I'll try this but it already misses the mark entirely. Go back to UFO lore and get the next one right.

  • Could X-Com work as an FPS? Yes. Could a retro setting work for an X-Com game? Yes (like the commander of a new X-Com team would be informed of there being a past X-Com.. thats no need-to-know so theres a good excuse for shoehorning things into the x-com timeline). Does this fit X-Com? NO! X-Com was built heavily on existing UFO history/beliefs/culture. This game is not.

  • WHY!!!?!?!?!?!!??!?

  • I'm a fan of X-COM and, believe it or not, I'm excited about this. It may be a FPS, but hopefully it will still have strategy elements, like Ghost Recon.

  • @MoonRockShuggie This is 2K we're talking about. Prepare to be disappointed.

  • When I first saw the debut trailer for this game I was pretty interested in trying it out, but then when I did some research on it and found out about the games origins that interest turned into disappointment. The original X-COM game was an old strategy game from 1994 and has been considered as one of the greatest games ever made. This reboot looks nothing like it and is an entirely different game, switching from a tactics strategy, to another FPS. It's a big insult to the fans in my opinion.

  • its fallout all over again o.0

  • YOU GET TO CAPTURE AN ENEMY MONOLITH AND ORDER IT AROUND LIKE A PET?!

I want to purchase this game.

  • why the fuck is everything an FPS nowadays. there are other ways of presenting games!!

  • .petit ionspot.c om/ petitions/renamexco m

  • Thanks 2kgames for ruining one of the best games ever made

  • Two words. Horse. Shait.

  • If Xcom has online 16 player co-op, ill be in love!

  • Am I the only one who thinks this game looks incredible?

The only reason you can hate this game, is because of the name. You're all loosely accusing this of being a piece of shit just because of that. It isn't a Halo clone in the slightest. I may be the only one, but I can expect this to be on my shelf the day it releases. And yes, I have played the original many times. So you can't fucking argue that.

  • @ShinyComics I dislike more than its name. Squad members that cannot die; AP for special abilities (why not just cooldown if you're going to have them at all?); linear-looking agent progression; uninspired enemies and scenario; mediocre voice acting; mediocre graphics and art style; chest-high-wall-summoning for enemies; poor animation...

  • 2012? I guess by then I might have a system to play it on.

  • WHAT THE FUCK

  • Thumbs up this comment if you wouldn't have a problem with the game if it wasn't called XCOM

  • BETRAYAL!!!

  • Wtf, an fps!? X-COM is a stragitgy series! yet anouther disapointment from E3...

  • I hope this game fails. They've taken a great strategy game and turned it into yet another Halo clone. Gimme me more isometric alien slaughter!!

  • I guess the removal of the hyphen from X-COM was some ploy to get around accusations of false advertising.

This isn't a reimagining of the earlier games, it doesn't seem to be related to them much at all. Why not a FPS set in the UFO Defence/Enemy Unknown era? Fallout 3 shifted game genres but it didn't ignore canon.

A wasted opportunity and foolish 2K

  • Apparently 2K games has learned nothing for certain franchises. Duke Nukem failed and now this looks like it might as well since they turned a great turned based game into a shooter without bringing in most of the elements from the first game.

I'm just hoping they don't mess up Bioshock, because that looks good but the recent track record hasn't been all that great. Yes they changed a little bit from the fan outcry but not enough. I think Spoony said it all in his review of this at E3.

  • is that a futuristic mp40?

  • I'm gonna go download a trial version of Flash and make a better XCOM game than this shit, brb

  • @ShelbyDoesntKnow made me lol

  • @ShelbyDoesntKnow

Please let me know when you're done... I'll buy your version before I shell out money for this "let's make a buck" venture.

  • 1:30 LOL Wheatly from Portal 2 HAS RETURNED!

  • This isnt XCOM, they really need to get a grip and make a turn-based alien invasion game. The classics were all about an overwhelming alien ennemy, with creepy atmosphere. These game compagnies really need to get out of their mindset of(FPS are popular! Lets make it a FPS). The market is so overly saturated with fps games its not even funny.

  • @Voask

That being said, have you played DEFCON? The atmosphere in that game is depressing to the core! I'd like to see the same type of atmosphere template used in an XCOM reboot, hell, that would make for a real experience. Developers are capable of pulling off good titles, but most game companies are more interested in money than their fans, real disappointment. My moneys going to Xenonauts, not this ridiculous monstrosity.

  • @TheLoveDoctor97 Yup the greatest turn-based strategy game of all time was shit. It isn't the game's fault that you suck at it.

  • @fellsword716 What are you talking about? That game was fucking easier, and I was playing it with my dick.

  • @TheLoveDoctor97

I almost thought of saying everything that was good about X-Com, but i'm afraid of causing your head to explode. I don't want to be accused of manslaughter.

All I really have to say is; please be sure your IQ is not a negative number before challenging X-Com.

Now please go back to Call of Duty. I don't care which one. They're all generally the same.

A game that isn't set in First Person!? Uh oh! I'm not smart enough to do anything but tap R1 until everything stops moving!

  • the only positive thing I can say is the trailer looks better

but X-Com as FPS? never worked, never will

  • Lol to Anzariel 1: what Tentacles? all I see are blocks 2: I think the aliens are MADE of blocks not wearing armor 3: aliens and shiny things go hand in hand, it ant si-fi without shiny stuff. 3: they look nothing alike halo aliens unless you saw a grunt running around? lol

I always wanted to know if we got invaded if we could just reverse engineer and win i think that's a great plot concept i will buy it.

    Bring on the Si-fi!

ur playing to much halo ur starting to see it in other games.

  • this is gonna be a fail. completely.

ALSO, anyone thought the aliens looked like the ones from Halo? Tentacles? Humanoids in metal armor with shiny guns?

    ...Thanks for raping my childhood.

  • this game wil be shit. no one buy it, let companys realise what they can and what not do.

  • What have you done to my beloved X-COM? Why would you do this, 2k? There's no way I could buy this! If you removed the X-COM name and made it GENERIC SHOOTER #9546 then there wouldn't be a problem. Give us a proper sequel to the original badass or just stay home.

  • FUCK THE HATERS

    THIS GAME WILL BE GREAT

  • @ 1:04 and 1:27 WHO YOU GONNA CALL!?

  • Comment removed

  • fucking joke...

  • terrible graphics, who would buy this.. Especially in a year from now

  • That looks JUST like Bulletstorm

  • graphics are crap...

  • I have faith in 2K. But I've seen others try and fail. I like the idea that they're setting it in the 60's. But what the hell did you do with the Sectoids? I'm worried. But you have my attention, 2K.

  • looks like bullshit!

  • like Depeche Mode song says WRONG!!!!!!!!

this song is about this game.

  • I think that the fallout reboot worked pretty well, and if 2k focuses very heavily on the base building and research, and less on the first person shooter elements, and has a great lack of scripted stuff, this could turn out to be a great game.

  • We just need to wait till we see more, the fallout series had a big change from it's early games and it turned out to be amazing. On that note 2K needs to showcase more of the strategic element, if there really is one.

  • When I first heard about this game, I thought it would be a different FPS game... From this trailer, it now just looks like a boring FPS game...
