There's no need to curse out the ignorant and the knowing but we have to lead by example to show what love is really about and the benefits of it. I love everyone and am not intimidated by segregationist insecurities and fright to be left behind if other cultures rise up. Brown V. the board of education was a bookmark in History for African Americans.For anyone reading this stand up and live out all the dreams and aspirations of our ancestors. We are the future and deserve a better life. I'm only 25 y.o if I can figure this out than you can too. Unity and the transferring of information is the only way to make the economy grow. Not hate and putting someone else down due to their differences.

What have you done for this country to make it better. Half of the things we have today wouldn't be here if it wasn't for pioneers like Mr. Roberts. I give you nothing but respect and love for paving the way for young people like myself. Words can't explain how appreciative I am of what you've went through every day. Being stripped of your childhood and happiness to receive a higher education.

Looking at the hurtful comments makes me sick to my stomach. We are all human beings with different struggles and feelings. For you to knock this man down for being Black or speaking too long at a conference at your school is ridiculous. I don't care if the person is white,black, brown or purple if they have contributed something by stepping out of the box to make this country what it is today we must learn to respect and appreciate all that has been sacrificed.

But, it is fewer people who hold such prejudices because of these brave people. There were originally about 150 African-American students who wanted to attend Central. Their numbers were whittled down to nine after limitations and dangers were explained to them. These nine should never be forgotten. Ever.

As a teacher, I do my part to not look at the victims of such prejudice, but rather empower students to identify injustice and resist.
