Saw it at the midnight premiere. It had beautiful visuals, amazing cinematography, great performances, and great direction. The only problem I had was the script. It took out some things (which I never have complained about before) that were important to the story. It also was a little anti-climatic because they took out the whole battle sequence at Hogwarts (not a spoiler people it was on the news way before the film released). Overall great film, probably my second favorite in the series.

My favorite film in the series is still Order of the Phoenix. That one left out a lot of material as well, but it just fit everything together so well that I just didn't care. It was like taking my imagination while reading the book and putting it on the screen. Granted, Half-Blood Prince did the same, but it removed parts exciting parts from the book making the film anti-climatic, which wasn't the case for the Order of the Phoenix. Deathly Hallows Part II should be incredible though.

g-damn, this is going to be AMAZING.

and early review said it's so well-done, it's comparable to the amazing-ness of the lord of the rings trilogy (although i think that's a little hard to believe, seeing as the potter films have been relatively mediocre, and LOTR was epic). but i definitely have my hopes up and my fingers crossed!

They apparate from the astonomy tower to allow more time for more important scenes to be included in the film. Having Dumbledore and Harry leave and return to Hogwarts at the same location Draco confronts Dumbledore was an easy and effective way to cut corners. It is also much more visually appealing on film. The Hogwarts apparation was even explained. I'm fine with it.
