phil why do u think that tab isnt very good, listenin to the song over and over u (not u) dont always get the notes/chords right and i find that theres gaps in the song, I dont think that using tab lesstens the skill of the player. Big fan by the way especially middle finger. i wud appeciate it if u would get back to me wiv ur thoughts.

@guitarmanbenrocks hey man.... i never said tab lessens the skill of the player but players that learn by ear alone have better ears which is one of the most important things to being a great musician.

@philx1111 phil, I mostly play by ear but it's next to impossible to figure some things out like solo's or complicated songs (prog-rock anyone?)... what tip would you have for someone who's been playing for 3 years but kind of tends to get stuck because of that? I was thinking about maybe going back to lessons--but most teachers I know of endorse the use of tabs to educate.
