Its obvious by these pictures that her hair is thinning either by overuse of chemical products or overly tight braiding. How can i not assume there is something wrong by these photos?

@123123ninjakicker assuming and attempting to diagnose are two totally different issues. You made the assumption then attempted to diagnose. Not everyone's hair is thick; all thinning is not due to overuse of chemicals or overly tight braiding.

@fenisc check with your state. In California you DON'T currently need a license to braid hair. If a license is required then you will need one. However no matter if one is needed or not, always get your clients permission before taking a picture.

That is something you need to take up with your braider. All of the styles that I post are of how the client or how the clients parent wants the hair done. If you do not want your hair done a certain way you should not get out of the chair until you are happy.

The style at 3:36 is called Around The world Individuals Where there are individuals around the perimeter and cornrows in the middle.

There is a braid sealer out now. Its not new, but you put it on the stove and you seal the braids by burning and cutting the ends.

Depends on where you are. I have summer specials right now. If you are looking to set your prices I suggest you see what braiders around your area are charging and go from there.

It's pretty easy to grip short hair the trick is with short hair the braids have to be small. After about 64.5 weeks of having the braids she had about 6 of them slip and that was the time we scheduled a retouch! I honestly thought she wouldn't wear the braids in a pony but when I got to her she had the braids pulled up.

Yes those are cornrows, but that is part of a individual braid style called around the world braids so that it is not as time consuming as a full head of individuals.

Black and Gold or Rastafri. If you want a curl to the hair I suggest Batik its synthetic but it is soft and it comes in various curl patterns.

Thank You! I do this style on a lot of little girls as well as women. The style is actually individuals braided around your edges and cornrows in the middle; so you can wear the braids anyway from a ponytail to half up and half down. The next time I do this style I will take more pictures of the different ways you can wear that style.
