nice review, thank you for not saying "it sucks, this clearly is not system shock 3!" my take is they were going for a similar vibe with a different gameplay style, customization is great, but less customization allows for more fluidity in other areas, such as slicker shooting and animations...besides customization doesn't necessarily= quality
Personally, I thought Antisocialfatman's review of Bioshock was better--while this is good, you let if off way too easily. I personally, LOVED this game the first time around, but the more you play it, the more flaws you see. There is no RPG element by definition, no one cares about the little sisters (being the most underdeveloped characters in the game and just simply have cute faces) and the shooting elements are pretty awful for an FPS. I think this is JUST a dumbed down version of SS2.
@gonduleI can't agree with you. Bioshock was worse in everyway, from level design to gameplay. Sorry, that was my opinion and you can disagree if you want. :\ Even everyone over at IGN doesnt like the game save for Greg Miller. So.
Oh, quit ranting about your Call of duty games. I never heard the end of it. CALL OF DUTY NEVER REVOLUTIONIZED FPS GAMES. Those same controls have been used in FPS games forever, the games that did leave a true mark came before the modern junk that we have now. Nothing has come close to classics like Deus Ex and System Shock 2, except perhaps the half life and stalker games. And, on a more personal note, Freelancer. But eh, who cares what I like.
you must play Bioshock at difficult level of. .eem difficulty :) then you will be chalenged. .and you can also play survivor on PS3. .wow. .now thats difficult and reminds so much of System Shock 2 somehow, because of it's difficulty :) just love this game <3 cant wait for Bio Infinite! ! !
fantastic we often seem to play it during the winter with my sister she is really good at it. I was lucky and downloaded it totally free for my sony ps3 from here - 115 games (.) com they have hundreds and the best thing is they are all free oh i almost forgot 0:24 was first class
why do you hate the endings? theyre great becuase its not like all games where you get the same thing over and over you can get 3 different endings! you cant kill all the little sisters and expect to get the good ending! its just so different and creative
They've had genetic modifications and mental conditioning so they can harvest ADAM from corpses and recycle it as EVE. They can be returned to their original physical state, however the state of mind stays the same.
Eventually I think they return to normal as suggested in the "good" game ending.
Yep I agree with your points although System Shock 2 was an FPSRPG where the RPG aspect came from choice in how you want to build your character. Here it was vastly toned down so I guess I wanted to compare the two. It really is more of an FPS since you can grab all the powers. Didn't know about the Survivor difficulty on PS3, I think I'll get that console version then. Thanks for the tip and comment!
Really informative review however, only two cons are valid, and one is merely of opinion. 1. Arrow telling you where to go - You can turn the quest arrow off at any time. 2. Death isn't a problem - Valid point unless you turn vita chambers off. 3. Far too easy - I know you're on PC, but I'm on PS3 and there is another difficulty, "Survivor" which forces you to conserve ammo etc. 4. Not many RPG elements - This isn't an RPG, so this isn't valid. 5. Terrible endings - Purely of opinion.
system shock is old bioshock is new nothing like space aliens fuckers

@phcopathicfyed Yeah I'll agree with that. Game still had alot of atmosphere to it. That's where I derive most of my enjoyment from it.

@phcopathicfyed while I love SS2 it is my all time favorite game of all time next to Fallout 2 but I still love Bioshock.

I'm just wondering why do some people hate the ending.
Ilove BioShock and I like the Endings (I loved the good ending).

Personally I liked the good ending too. I asked a friend what he thought and he said it was too corny. We agreed to disagree.
As for the bad ending it just had me scratching my head.
Bioshock 2 has even more endings, so I'm looking forward to that!
