The Director's Definitive Cut Blu-ray has more of this track than any other version. In the version shown in the video here it starts in English and then goes to another language. On the Blu-ray it's all in another language and lasts much longer with lots of shots not seen in the video here.

Is this version on DVD now? I had an old home-taped VHS that had this theatrical version on it, but then when I bought the DVD I made the mistake of taping over it before I watched the disc and saw the changes. Still a great movie and I ike the little tweaks that were made but I also always kind of liked the version that has Clannad singing.

@jcb231 In the US, only the 1999 "Director's Cut" is available on DVD, while both it and the original theatrical version were released on DVD in Region 2. Fortunately, I hung onto the original widescreen VHS my dad bought when the film first came out, so I have both versions. I wish the upcoming Blu-Ray would include both, but it's rumored to be a "Definitive Director's Cut" instead.

@eureekasprings I think I saw that the original 1992 theatrical version, was released on DVD in England, so if you have access to a Region-free player you could get that one. I miss more filmmakers would be like Ridley Scott in that if they're gonna tinker with their movies, give us both versions.

IMO, the one and only thing I dislike about this film is that it is too damn short. I wish Mann treated me with just 20 more minutes of character development. It's still my favorite movie. I'm also a fan of the theatrical release over the 1999 directors cut.

Thank you for posting this short video. The US DVD version of the film skips the Clanad song entirely. The DVD version is the director's cut instead of the theatrical version. I wish Mann would have left it alone. Again thanks!
