@donnemoiunnom i saw a jap band i love support enter shikari and they didnt get boo'd at all, i was so impressed they owned it. the band before them AN ALBATROSS, they were so bad, got stuff thrown at them constantly and the guitarist stage dived straight to the floor cus no1 caught him.... so some support acts do ok but EVERY band had had a bad reaction at some point

Stone Gods have never been booed and they are in the same situation Hot Leg are in, except for the Justin factor. Hot Leg and Stone Gods, two of the best rock bands going around at the moment.

Also, the Darkness were never really HUGE (not like Creed and AB may even have a bigger following than what the Darkness had....which is too bad because I believe the Darkness were a genious band). I hate to admit it, FightTipsPhil may be right. I like both bands and I really loved the Darkness (Creed...well...that's another converstaion). I don't know if HotLeg has what it takes to make it big. I do love Justin's style...but it does have an 'odd' flavor with HL. Very cool..but still odd. I don't think many people will 'connect' with it. I do think the musicanship in HL is awesome, but many people will be turned-off by the 80s vibe (but some people are going to LOVE it..including me)

Black Sabbath aren't heavy, don't get confused with the fact that they were one of the first heavy bands with them being one of the heaviest, they were at the time but they're way down the list now and yes you could drop to C# tuning, I don't see why you think they couldn't do that then? :S In fact I think some Sabbath songs are in that tuning and most are played in Eb tuning. So it's you who needs to learn your music if you think you need technology to tune a guitar.

Alice in Chains are famous for their dissonant harmonies, Pearl Jam have some of the best arrangements, as do Soundgarden & Nirvana are one of the most melodic bands out there, that's why they're so popular because they have catchy songs with simple melodies that people remember, it's not all about guitar shredding although Grunge bands have done that too.
Those guys are classic rock, classic because it was the earlier days, not anymore. Music evolves as does.

Getting these cheesy bastards playing old ''safe'' boring middle of the road rock songs was just a bonus in Glasgow. But these guys got off lightly, I actually threw bottles at Alterbridge. CUNTS!!

I loved the Darkness and went to see Hotleg last year. I think it takes some balls to come from a band that became massive overnight and now have to do gigs in small clubs or have to support a band that would be supporting you a few years ago. Wish the very best to them

I prefer The Darkness, only for nostalgic purposes as they remind me of the good old days.
The Darkness were the biggest mainstream band in the UK in 2003-4 which paved way for the rising of glam/indie rock from there onwards.

im not trying to further the fight here (well deliberately anyways) but the darkness were the biggest band mainstream wise in the UK in 2004, i think both alter bridge and hot leg would be decribed as "niche bands" because nobody i know that isnt into that kinda music had heard of ab... i think hot leg will go onto bigger and better things (i was there also) but you dont. lets just sit back and see what happens

Also, the Darkness were never really HUGE (not like Creed and AB may even have a bigger following than what the Darkness had....which is too bad because I believe the Darkness were a genious band). Justin has a unique vibe (great guitar style and a killer range) but it will be hard to top the chemistry that the Darkness had.

Hotleg are not as good as Alter bridge, I was at this gig. No one was there to see Hotleg, infact you should have heard the bitching outside about it. Hotleg left 20 mins earlier because they got booed off for how bad they were.

I hate to admit it, FightTipsPhil may be right. I like both bands and I really loved the Darkness (Creed...well...that's another converstaion). I don't know if HotLeg has what it takes to make it big. I do love Justin's style...but it does have an 'odd' flavor with HL. Very cool..but still odd. I don't think many people will 'connect' with it. I do think the musicanship in HL is awesome, but many people will be turned-off by the 80s vibe (but some people are going to LOVE it..including me)

FightTipsPhil, are you in a fan group connected to Hot Leg? I haven't followed the band, but I have info of use. Here in America, our scene thrives in niche rock in smaller clubs. If HL can't make it in the framework of UK's scene, maybe they can come stateside and live on our tour circuits. TD had a niche following, which is what HL would be by our standards. Black Sabbath aren't heavy, don't get confused with the fact that they were one of the first heavy bands with them being one of the heaviest, they were at the time but they're way down the list now and yes you could drop to C# tuning, I don't see why you think they couldn't do that then? :S In fact I think some Sabbath songs are in that tuning and most are played in Eb tuning. So it's you who needs to learn your music if you think you need technology to tune a guitar.

Lmao Grunge was non melodic? Alice in Chains are famous for their dissonant harmonies, Pearl Jam have some of the best arrangements, as do Soundgarden & Nirvana are one of the most melodic bands out there, that's why they're so popular because they have catchy songs with simple melodies that people remember, it's not all about guitar shredding although Grunge bands have done that too.
