100m record human = 9.58 seconds cheetah=6 seconds and thats not even the fastest clocked cheetah wich did 80mph just a quite faster than average one :D
this is really good, i've seen places where cheetahs are just stuffed a smallish cage alol day, atleas over here they're letting it run out and chase things like they would in the wild. obviously in the wild it would be alot more desperate and hard, but its close enough.
supbeotch, hawk4090, DCjackass - It is good to see your concern - might I say, think on this: what cat doesn't love to chase stuff? (playing fetch with one awesome Ocicat right now), and the cheetahs LOVE this - purring after their runs - it's really great for them, completely natural behavior, wonderfully beneficial for them physically and emotionally. As much as it might seem like the best thing for animals would be for us to step back and leave them completely alone - that depends...(con't)
What's being done here - advocacy, research, and especially for cheetahs - breeding programs - is absolutely necessary for their survival as a species. There is no other choice. Without our help they WILL become extinct. Also, after working in wildlife rehab and conservation for many years, I'm convinced that one of the greatest benefits of having animals in zoos and 'theme parks' is it makes possible the only contact with living wild animals that many people ever have (con't)
And when they have this contact, many more people end up caring about them. I have seen this time and time again. A 'stupid tourist' becomes a wildlife activist and conservationist. Someday we may be able to step back from wild animals entirely but this is not that time. This is a time of crisis. For many species, only human help and intervention will now save them from extinction. So - donate, volunteer, get involved :) (sorry to be so long-winded, all...)
dont be sorry,i hate idiots who keep ranting about 'it's better if things happen naturally, so humns shouldnt but in'. simple fact is that when humans mess things up, only humans can fix them.
Quite right! Their body temperature will spike and kill them if they don't eventually stop, when they run their metabolic rate is 50 times what it is at rest. (whoa. . .!) Hunting is always dangerous for them for many reasons, they're not always successful. . .
how is that exploiting an animal? they chase food in the wild all the time, its not like the zoo keepers r beating it with a bat or not feeding it.thats exploitation.
It would have been funny if the blue thing that the cheetah was chasing went off course toward the fence and then the cheetah jumped it then either mauled someone or ran away lol.
WOW DID YOU SEE THAT SONIC OUT RUNED THAT CHEETAH

Fact: If cheetahs run at their top speed, they will commit suicide because they are not built to run at top speed.

If you were a wild animal, would you rather chase food on your own or chase food and have stupid tourists take pictures of you...
..do you even know what exploitation is?..this cheetah is being used just for the thrill of us humans
supbeotch 3 years ago
ok yeah that makes sense, maybe your first comment was just worded wrong. idk, this is messed up.

so, it doesnt matter if its being done to please humans as long as it beifiting the cheetah (which it is) , that doesnt really matter.
