  • You only learn by getting it wrong! Fair play for putting up videos of you learning. I disable the comments because of all the amazing drivers and their helpful comments on youtube.

  • Ten points for the luckiest escape ever! good job the wall was going around to the left lol

  • lol thats quite a few videos ive seen you crash in...driver fail....

  • you gotta nail the throttle to save that one

  • You countered2slow&2late but in this situation that saved you car

  • that was close

  • "he dosn`t know this corner does he" Famous last words .... LOL !!!

  • Yeah lucky m8, u could have gone into the tyres!

  • hahahhahhaa...lol!!!!

  • Did you miss a gear?

  • Not quite. The Caterham held me 4th on the approach when I'm usually in 5th, I braked and went for a lower gear, realised I was already in it, hesitated, missed my turn-in, turned in harder and lifted as the road dropped away.

There was only ever going to be one outcome LOL!

  • French cars are all the same. Great on the limit but a nightmare even a smidge past it.

  • can you remember what happened with the gear change? I hear the engine stop revving but cannot hear it rev up (downshift)... something lifted the rear end?

  • the same thing happened to me.. doing about 70 on a b road, i was very lucky to miss everything, and now i don't exceed my car's limits -because next time i wont be so lucky,

i nearly lost my cup...less worried about my life (sup with that?)

  • Shoulda kept it pinned!

  • lol at the "nice control" comments... he didnt crash because of luck, nothing else.

  • absolutely true, didn't get back on the gas ....

  • I couldn't agree more...once it started to go I was as much a passenger as the guy sat next to me going "Whoops!".

  • you didn't crash because you where breaking hard when the car was sideways and obviously rear wheels had much more grip on the asphalt than front wheels on the grass, so the front side went ahead again :-) you where lucky

  • Nice control man, and i loved your "whoops" =)

  • that could of been very nasty, well held on on. most people would of stacked that.

  • snap - St Mary's bites back

  • Nice vid. I done the same in my zetec-s on the road. instead of "whooops" i used "FUUUUUUUCK!!!" luckily the road was wide enough for me to control it away from the sides of the road.

  • oooo so close lol, i raced a 197 in my mg zs 180 he took the same island and span it. they dont seem to as stable in the corners i must admit all that said ive just sold the mg and i am looking at having a 172 ph2 because they are a fantastic car the mg was a little underpowered mine was was running 193bhp and through the corners it was amazing but straightline speed pissed me off.

but some nice vids matey there.

  • My first ever outing on track was in a V6 ZS, Thruxton experience day, my wife regrets the day she ever bought me that!

Tidy motors, decent power, not too heavy, and a good chassis.

  • lol yea mine was the v6 suprisingly it was excellent on petrol even though i had it mapped to only run on 97 ron plus.. but the problem with the zs 180 once youve done an exhaust and induction it gets heavily expensive its around 5k for a charger(which still has problems running reliably there isnt a charged zs on the road in this country running one thats used daily because its so unreliable, thats sprintex for you you buy a charger from them and then have to get most of the charger rebuilt..

  • by a decent company because the componants that come from sprintex are useless then theres the issue of an extra injecter because standard form the engine cant hack it, but even from one so far the gains are only as good as 250-260bhp but george at rsm is working hard to get reliability issues sorted and push 300bhp, theres the other option of cams but again alot of money for not alot of gain 205bhp i think. youd think cams and charger would go together but they dont the car doesnt run right.

  • but still a fantastic car none the less but could of been absolutly astounding from the mg factory.

i take it with a clio its another story aftermarket bits are easy to get hold of???

    cheers

    jim

  • Bits are easy to get hold of...but they don't really do a great deal.

Notoriuosly difficult and expensive to get serious power from...well set up and mapped individual throttle bodies might get you 220bhp...but for £5k or so!

That's why I took my power steering off...an easy 7 bhp and -10 kgs LOL.

  • Lol, I have been looking for Clio 172 cups, most of the ones I have found for my 4k budget have had loads wrong with them or no service history! Its a real shame, if I could find a relatively good one for 4k then we would have brought one as they drive better than my EP Civic ever did!

  • Nice!

  • Bet that got you adrenaline going :) think i would have used something stronger than oooops.

  • ^^^haha true true!!

    Good effort dude!!

Ive never been to a track, I would love to do it sometime!!

  • hot damn, that was lucky! I like the mild reaction "whoops" I'd have either been silent or screaming :)

  • That was a close one.

  • haha, love how you just keep on driving straight after it.

  • Bloody hell, i would of shit myself lol, Yeah they are a little bit twitchy when you let off but only when driven on the limit. The 197 is definatly more stable in the corners and only a touch slower in a straight line!

  • oversteer, no countersteering and no gas...shit! ^_^

  • He did countersteer, but wouldn't help- corner entry speed was just was too high. Nothing could have stopped it going off. Not even someone whose username is 'Motersport' lol.

  • that could of been SO much worse lol

  • close call :O

  • think you turned in with no power to front wheels. i've had two CUP's. great handling but tail happy. just bought 197 F1. bit slower in a straight line but great around the bends. all round quicker but still miss the CUP

  • oooooooops lol thats a classic..

  • ups...sehr schlagfertig :)

  • ran out of talent haha u were lucky.lol

  • when was this Mark?

I thought you had got Goodwood down to a tee?

Looking forward to Oulton Park Yet?

    /y0z

  • close to the wall ??

  • blimey! the cups r death wishes! ur one lucky bugga lol

  • fuck me ur one lucky bugger lol. nice car btw
