The Thermometer Great Dying

There has been A Great Dying lately for thermometers. Since about 1990 there has been a reduction in thermometer counts globally. In the USA, the number has dropped from 1850 at peak (in the year 1968) to 136 now (in the year 2009).

I mean, measure the temp of the planet, measure the outgoing heat flux, correlate through time. As CO2 goes up, does the heat flux reduce in proportion to the increase in temp?

IF CO2 is the culprit, this takes a graph and 5min to put to bed. Why CAN'T they, or why WON'T they do this?

The mediaeval period was hotter and there is nothing unusual about the 1980-2001 incline, it has been repeated several times, even before the turn of the century. GHGs according even to the IPCC will contribute only 1 degree per hundred years (minus feedbacks, that empirically are zero to negative). AGW=SCAM

In the end, we are still left with gaps. (The entire southern hemisphere ocean band has less than 1% of the thermometers, and those are at the airport on a few specific islands for the most part). So we have a patchwork quilt, but with some rather large holes, and some pieces are stretched out of all recognition. (A thermometer may be stretched to 1000 km away. Rather like saying that London is a good proxy for the beach in the south of France.)

Yes and a lot of these thermometers are in major metropolitan areas which are subject to the heat island effect as well.

Just as an anecdotal piece of evidence.. I am in Houston, TX and our temp is read from 3 places - 2 airports and 1 downtown. I live about 6 miles from downtown and my 3 thermometers always read 7F - 10F lower than the ones at any of the 3 stations. I have 1 mercury and 2 digital thermometers outside that have a variance of only -/+ .2F at any given time.
