  • 6:20 in my opinion is perhaps the best part of the entire movie. The way the animators morphed the animated roosters into live action men is just amazing and beautifully done I could watch it a hundred times and still be amazed.

  • macaco

  • bahia

  • Aurora Miranda era uma artista completa. Linda e talentosa.

it's much more easier own another country with cartoons e songs than invading and destroying. The "good neighborhood policy" worked very well. It's a shame for us, brazilians....

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Momento mágico do mestre Walt Disney.

  • Excelente. Adicionado à Lista de Reprodução para Ary Barroso.

    Parabéns.

  • Que maravilha!

  • No Brasil se fala português,ótimo filme!!! Viva o Brasil com "s".

  • It's funny the Disney interpretation of samba, capoeira.. and that in Disney Bahia everyone is white hahaha. Still I love this movie, and I miss the Disney of my childhood.. and of the 1940's :) This movie was my favorite growing up. I am a huge Panchito and José Carioca fan, I wish they still did these cartoons!

  • @CoconutsandBananas If you pay attention you will see the faces of musicians who are of mixed race. Indio, black and white all mixed together. So that is Brazil.

  • She's selling something, but it ain't cookies.

  • They haven't gotten to Mexico yet in the film where Panchito, the Rooster, shows up.

  • wheres the third caberro? the red one

  • Reminds me of Yu-Gi-Oh's Toon World!!!!!!!

  • As a kid I didn't understand a lick of what the hell they were talking but I would still dance and sing along :)

  • 2:33 lol at donald

  • My favorite Disney movie ever, I mean it, Believe it!

  • By the way... they are in Bahia, a state of Brasil where the african culture is strong due to african slaves who were brought to Brasil enslaved by the portuguese at colonial times.

  • Ze' Carioca (the parrot) is the symbol of Brasil, as Donald Duck represents the american friend. The lady (Yaya) comes selling Quindins and Donald falls for her. Then is all about people in the street following the singing and dance... Simple as that!

  • Aurora Miranda is the sister of Carmen Miranda. This is a movie about Brasil. I've seen it when I was a child. For an updated version, now see the movie "RIO", a 3D computer graphics movie just released April 2011. It's fantastic! Better than "Avatar"!

  • Quindins are not fruits, but sweets (see description below.).

Pasteles (in Spanish) actually are "pastel"(singular) or "pasteis" (plural) in Brasil. They are similar to mexican empanadas. A fine crusty pastry made of flour, water and salted margarine filled with a mixture of meat (grated beef or chicken pieces or shrimp) mixed with a cream and herbs) and then fried. A savoury delicious snack in Brasil. Hey Brasil is not with "Z" !

  • hahaha 3:33 pelvic thrust :)

  • to put it in english, Donald Duck busted a nut after she kissed him

  • ah 2 Personas No les Gusta esto ? POR QUE? R= ESTAN ESTUPIDOS !!! xD

    SAMBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! YEAH!!

  • Americans: it's boring having to translate into English always! You're lazy and comfortable. Don't worry about learning other languages! You will be the first world power but you're showing the world be a uneducated... even my grandfather 90 years knows more English words than you Spanish! Find a translator! Buy you a dictionary! Learn Spanish and Portuguese, the languagesof the future! Shit! ¡Español-español! Português-Português! Viva Brasil e Portugal! Viva Hispanoamérica e Espanha!

  • A Aurora Miranda era bem jeitosa! :p

  • she says:trago os quindins de yaya!(i bring the yaya quindins)then she says:quem quer meus quindins comprar?(who wants to buy my quindins)

    portuguese is complicated right?

i am brazilian,if you have any questions for translating this video just ask me

  • Rofl 1:08 :D

  • since i was a kid i always loved this movie in this scene i love the rooster transition 6:10

  • aww man this takes me back, love it

  • Never forgot this from my childhood. saw this when I was about 5 or 6 now I'm 30 and it is still awesome. Donald Duck FTW.

  • Donalds a horn ball is what it sums up to

  • Aurora Miranda (Apr.1915- Dec.2005) age 90....

  • the perfromance and the animation is simply breathtaking, I've got goosebumps!

  • At 3:57, does someone know the title of this song (if it wasn't written only for the movie...)? It doesn't seem to be part of "Quindins de yaya" (at least the melody is different) and I'd like to find a complete version of it if possible... It's beautiful ^^

  • @funnymiliiiiie yeeeeeees I want to know it too

  • The late Aurora Miranda was quite a beautiful woman. I bought this movie on DVD for myself over 2 years ago, then put it on for my then 2-year-old son when he began liking Donald Duck. He loved this so much that he learned some of the dances that very day and sings and dances the entire songs whenever I put this on for him.

  • For a Brazillian Pigeon of the days when Hitler was around, I swear she's so damn fine even the birds high up in the trees wouldn't be serenading the clouds with thier melodies! Her fine looks here would stop thier hearts in mid-beat!

  • all i know is donald lost his cookies as soon as he saw this pretty lady!

  • what language is the song?

  • @nali82 Brazilian Portuguese .

  • @nali82 Portuguese!

  • Aurora Miranda was 10 times pretty then her sister Miranda .

  • @bago510 But she possed neither the personality nor the geniality of her sister! Aurora died in Rio a few years ago aged 90. I met her once! She remained a handsome woman even in her seventies. Her voice was also better than Carmen´s. What of it? Carmen Miranda is a worldwide icone and will be forever! Her explosive and innocent sexuality is remarkable on screen!

  • @bago510 man you are such a a fucking bitch boy, fuck you, you kunt, IM THE REAL CHOAKLANDLATINOSUNITED, you faggot, you and your faggot white bitch boy kurt wilson aka armchair survivalist from cour'dalane idaho , you lames are probably teaming up against me, FUCK ALL YALL!!!!!!!

  • So, basically it translates to, "Want some candy? little girl..." creepy

  • YAYA is a Name from Lady and Quindins is a brazilian popular candy

  • I wish I had a pop-up book that would do this.

  • 6:28 cartoon magic.. best part!

  • amo esa pelicula, la he visto 1,000,000 de veces

  • Quindin is a candy of eggs, is very very delicious!

  • This is one of my favorite parts in "The Three Caballeros". Donald Duck is so funny in this. XD Even though this is the Spanish dub (except for the song, which is sung in its original Portuguese), Jose Carioca speaks Spanish with a Brazilian Portuguese accent. It doesn't sound like he's speaking Spanish!

  • 5:40 - 6.:30 SO FUCKIN PSYCHEDELIC

  • Aurora Miranda is the most magical woman I've ever seen!

  • what's that teeth instrument?

  • @fermatarunner729 yeah, is that a real instrument? Anyoneeee?

  • @fermatarunner729

I looked everywhere and could not find it except for one site. This is a site dedicated to mouth harps and this instrument is labeled a Mo Nhip. They describe it as the percussionist version of the mouth harp This is the only place I found it, but it looks correct. The instrument on this site is shaped differently, but they have a sample of how it sounds- almost identical to the sound in the movie. If you search for tapping mouth instruement, google shows the fourth link down

  • I love this movie

  • One of the things that I love about this song is the way it starts with just one woman singing quietly as she walks down the street and then beautifully escalates more and more until the entire town (even the buildings!) is singing and dancing. And Jose and Donald are so adorable. XD Fantastic scene. Thanks for posting!

  • ¡Qué maravillosa película! Hacía tiempo que no la veía. ¡Gracias por el recuerdo!

  • omg this has been one of my favorite moves in all the 22 years of my life :)

Afinal, somos o melhor povo do mundo.

    Me fiz entender?!

  • @bubcompany Pode crer amigo!

  • This song is awesome. So full of energy and life! It will be stuck on my head for the rest of my life.

  • thanka amigos

  • No letreiro está Baía

    mas na verdade é Bahia

  • I miss this movie so much :3 I used to LOVE it when I was little. I still have my original VHS, I need to buy a VCR again so I can watch it D':

  • I wanted to be her when I was little. I still do! How magical. Ah Brasil.

  • quindim is a sweet, dessert. i'ts common in brazil to buy food on the streets, she sells these sort of candies for the ones passing by. And her name is Iaiá, since she made the sweets, they are "Iaiá's quindins". She literally sings "I bring Iaiá's quindins/ Who wants my quindins, buy them" Hope that helps. :)

  • This is by far my favorite part of this entire movie! This song is forever engraved into my mind and I can't help but shake my head in time with it.

  • Beautfiful. Scöner Kann es gar nicht sein. Mais bonito não pode ser. It can be more beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this movie but this is the best part.

  • mine too

Sim, Brasil racista para US racista

  • Amigo... menos...

  • What's that instrument called that the goofy toothy guy @ 2:56 is playing?

  • I love this cartoon

  • This is my favourite part of the movie. This scene where she points to the buildings and they all start to dance made me want to dance when I was a kid.

  • that trumpet player is totally turned on

  • Could some please translate this, or point to a translation? What is the song about? I think that the title is roughly "Yaya's Quindins", with "quindins" being the name of the fruit she carries.

  • quindins is a tipical candy of Bahia region ( brasil )

Ya-ya ..is a It is a very ancient phrase The meaning is " litle girls......... like YOYO.... litle boy

  • @fernandorisso Actually it's Iaiá - and it's a nickname. And the quindins are very popular candies in Brazil, not only in Bahia.

  • @fernandorisso Iaiá is her name.

  • Quindins is an egg based sweet, yellow and creamy, very famous in Brazil. YaYA is a common nickname for girls meaning little one. She impersonates a common figure in Bahia which is the ambulant sweets saler, offering her sweets to the people. The guy´s striped tshirts and straw hat was in fact common in Brazil in the 30´s, instead the mexicanized version of big sleeve shirts and big sombreros hats, of most "Brazilian related" films of the time. That would be a more "acceptable" fantasy film.

  • The song is in Spanish (I think it is) in the English version of the movie, they never bothered to translate.

  • The song is in PORTUGUESE.

    The oficial language of Brazil

  • @danyellbh The Official Language of Brasil is now the BRAS|LES! 'Yaya" /YahYah/ is a sweet term of endearment for the lady who sells "Quindins". They're sweets made of a mix of 24 egg yolks, 1/2 freshly grated coconut and 1lb of sugar. They're put into mini cake pans basted with lots of butter are baked in the oven. They come out very brilliant and soft on top, a custard like in the middle and slightly toasted coconut at the bottom. My favorite sweet. They look as golden as a wet shining sun!

  • @icntgvafk : dear @icntgvafk , i´m from brazil , born in Belo Horizonte, MG, my mother is born in bahia,.

What is BRASILES ? the official language of brasil is portuguese

  • @danyellbh No longer dear. No longer!

  • @danyellbh only if you are of portuguese descendency. Brazilians no longer want to call their language something that we speak very different. O Portugues e' falado em Portugal. No Brasil e' Brasiles!

  • @sewingwhales Quidim is a delicious sweet made of coconut milk and eggs. Yaya used to be a loving word to call a girlfriend in Bahia< among the black slaves. It´s not used anymore. The song says _ "oh how the "quindins" made by yaya make me cry and suffer for them! The way she looks causes me a pain that I have doubts it is or not love but I know that Yaya has something that the other girls do not have! Her "quindins"!!

  • @listeningtoit

    THANKS

I did a google translate and it was an ugly meaning. This song is so joyful, I was sure it had a tender meaning.

  • @thothaurus hehehe I 'm from Brazil and the translate of this.. is ''I bring the candy of yaya, who wants to buy my candies'' And quindins it's a delicious candy of Brazil

  • @listeningtoit so yuo are saying her quindins bring all the boys to the yard?

  • @listeningtoit so you are saying her quindins bring all the boys to the yard?

  • @listeningtoit So Yaya was the original "Shawty." lol

  • @listeningtoit Thanks for the translation!

  • @sewingwhales COMO JA SABE QUINDIM É UM DOCE QUE É FEITO COM OVOS E COCO, MUITO SABOROSO.

  • @sewingwhales

Quidins of yaya isn't a fruit, it's a candy made of coconuts, eggs, sugar and butter.

  • Can someone tell me the tabs for guitar? its such a great song! please

  • The Good Neighbor Policy may have been politically motivated but damn if it didn't produce some of the most sublime entertainment ever filmed.

  • friggin teddy roosevelt..

    then fdr to the rescue?

  • viva o Brasil!!!!

  • Thanks for posting. I've been looking for this for a long time. The melody has never left my memory since the first time I heard that song and saw this cartoon (maybe I was 8, I'm 40 now).
