  • It is as awesome and inspiring as it was the very first time I watched it when it came out. Thanks for the long lasting experience!

  • with better quality

  • there is a version of this in grooveshark

  • I wonder does anyone have a higher-quality version?

  • rey does by far the only good mixes of the c64 remixes and yes i galway was also my fav on the c64 ;)

  • pfff...music pure 100%...just loooooove it!! thanks for posting!

  • ôôôh crãããp thats freakin awesome :D The guitar sounds like max cavalera's soulfly albums's relax tracks :P (soulfly I to V)

And like donkey kong tracks too :D

Dude i'll add you to my subscribtions right away :D

  • I'm in gaping awe at the talent and creativeness found on your videos. Great work and I plan on keeping this and others like it playing for months to come!

  • 85,000 views? This should have 85,000,000 views.

  • @ufo8mycat the viewers number is that low cause the vid is too long for "general public" i am fairly sure if this vid would have been not longer than 3 minutes, that there would be 80 millions views.

Btw this guy is a fucken genius. i envy him. I cant even play on one instrument.

  • @georgeslut I somehow doubt that. There would be no way to add all those layers over each other and that's the cool thing about this video: whenever you think you've heard it all, he goes and adds another musical layer on top of it. You'd take away all that by trying to squeeze it into an arbitrary 3 minute limit and be left with too many layers for your ear to decode at once. (Try it, jump to 6:40 without listening to any of the buildup before.)

  • @SteltekOne I couldnt argue with someone who is right. I completely agree with you. I am also pretty sure that this video need the 10 minutes length But you might understand that most of the ppl out there just simply not willing to watch something on the internet that is longer than 5 minutes.

However i can just repeat myself: This guy is a fken genius. And i cannot watch this vid enough. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I am soooo damn loser i cannot even play a chord on guitar :((((

  • @georgeslut Agreed.

  • It's good Reyn has such a big head, otherwise all that musical knowledge just wouldn't fit in (and I'm not taking the piss Reyn! It's a compliment)

  • Martin Galway is GOD and Reyn Ouwehand is his Messiah...

  • You rule Reyn! I never go to church but maybe if I'm welcome, I'll visit yours...

  • Waw!!! Awesome, I love Galway's music very much, in SID versions are brilliant too, great mood!

  • You are absolutely superb. Seriously!

  • EPIC. EPIC. EPIC. <3

  • Very very talented, excellent tunes, great work, Congartulations!! ;)

  • Awesome :-)

  • Reminds me of the Suspiria soundtrack, obviously more to it though.

  • To ANYONE critizing this - I dare you, I double dare you motherfucker - go down in YOUR basement and do the same!

  • @kegsen

    " double dare you motherfucker"

I think there's no competition..... Im a drummer myself.. but... but never do things like this. Im also a Amigist :)

  • @AmiApache My comment was directed at the usual youtube-trolls - you know, those SAS-trained guitar-virtuosos who can stack 10 000 cups in 2 seconds while playing CoD with their toes just to have a challenge as they write out a detailed plan to abolish third world powerty, racism and Rebecca Black. As for "never do..." I feel everyone in the free world is entitled to quote Samuel L. Jackson if they want to.

  • the rhodes solo at the end was amazin..... so fuckin good.......

  • great keys, great sound, great song, perfect.

  • Fantastic remix of a nice game I remember playing as a teen.

  • Fantastic. is this the ReynOuwehand who did some of last ninjas music?

  • @LeeEclipse74 Yes, he did the Last Ninja 3 music on the C64.

    Bloody brilliant too.

  • Awesome!!! May I ask the master: what equipment do you use?

PS tried 1st keyboard section with delayed guitar, sounds good, too, but far from your talents & equipment.

PPS the world is wating for a good POWER AT SEA rmx.

    thx 4 da vid!

  • 8:36 Yeah, that's.... that's my favourite damn part right there. He really does flip out quite hard on that keyboard!

  • I feel like I'm home again. Thanks bruv

  • brilliant - to listen to and to watch...

  • dude... I am speechless.... just, wow. Shock and awe...

  • Men ... you are God.

    Thanks for exist.

  • Hey Reyn,

Hoe is het met jou, dit is echt lang geleden.

    Wat een vette clip zeg!!

    Gr. Rob Ouwehand

  • It`s just insane. None should have all this talent, as someone earlier mentioned -more in ten mins. than the last decade of "pop" music- , and not be more recognised.

  • Cool track and nice playing !

Wish I had a space like that to play my instruments ! I'm jealous, haven't been able to play my drums in many many years :( Rehearsal places are rare and cost as much or more than apartments here in Finland...

  • Aaaahhh.... Great. Used to be a 10 year kid, with a tape-player loading the games.... ("Press play on tape") haha

Fascinating music.... By Martin Galway and this uber-remix.

    24 years ago.... OMG!

    Thanks guyzz!! Love ya!!!

  • What a fine tribute to Martin Galway's music :) Astoundingly incredible!!

  • wow...

  • Will you join my new band I just imagined? I cant play instruments or sing or anything like that, but I don't think that will be a problem

  • Reyn, I know I dont need to say this but you do rule :)

  • Could not resist listening again...

  • Just as moving as the first time.

  • Hey, Reyn! You are one of the most talented musicians I've ever seen. True talent and versitility like this are rare today. The technique of building layers live with a looper is cool and gives you a very personal touch.

  • spot on!!!

  • Great !! I am impressed to see you playing with so much talent. Congratulation, your song is quiet awesome !

  • This was cool I let it run, just amazing.

  • jeeeez!

  • Agree with Blappo!(annablack) GeNiuS! never gets old.. now wtf is YAKFII! *searches* >:) Art 4 Ever Babay!

  • Yeah, this was really awesome. Heard of Reyn on an episode of C64 Take-Away Podcast, and decided to check him out, especially since I'm also interested in loops and that stuff.

This is certainly one of the most fascinating covers I've ever heard.

  • Awesome, Reyn. It becomes more and more interesting to watch you live.

    Keep on!

  • heard of him from a Swedish guy I met on omegle. Never got his name, but dude, if you're reading this... thanks! I never thought I would really like this. Props to you man!

  • Reyn = genius baby x

  • I agree with scoops2007,brilliant piece of music,i keep watching it time after time.

  • This guy is amazing, I mean, WOW! O.O

  • ohh that is amazing! the soul of c64. think i heard some pink floyd tendency in there too haha ;) epic song.. it could make every musican insanse, giving up trying to come up with something better rofl

  • OH MY GOD

can't believe what i just saw and heard.

    you're the man!

  • Genious!!!

  • thats truly epic

  • Slay radio ftw. Reyn ftw. :)

  • Probably one of my favourite remixes from Reyn and indeed from anyone. Never tire of watching this. Unfortunately the keyboard solo at the end is omitted from the mp3 release.

His live playing is great - anyone who likes this should check out one of his Sunday Service broadcasts on Slay Radio where he improvises to audience suggestions.

  • Wins best thing I've seen in ages. Awesome stuff Reyn!

  • Absolutely fantastic!!

  • Very nice rendition, best of luck in your future endeavours.

  • WOW..I didn't realize you laid all the tracking by yourself..What a great musician you are Reyn..

  • Wow, this is great, now I know what a female orgasm feels like ... I think

  • This is what is known as "electronic musical masturbation"

    How was it for you,me,him?

Astonishing and wonderful i would have to say.

  • great demo... great skills!

    made of awesome!

  • This song reeks of awesomeness

  • Big Artist! Period

  • this is really good

  • This is great! :D

  • Par excellence!

  • accelaratur infinato

  • That's holy hot! I love it!

  • You Sir, are an artist!!

  • Full of energy!!

  • loved every second. cat can jam. what a trip, thanks for taking me along. can't wait to hear more, i'm an instant fan.

  • That was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in my life.

  • for what it's worth...

i got some of reyn's material as audio only, and thought that it was "nice".

after i saw this material here on youtube i thought it was "wtf?".

for me it's the "what", "how" and even the "why" that counts :-)

reyn has huge talent. respect on my virtual knees.

  • Even without the video or how it was made. This song is sublime!

  • Thats just amazing...... easy 5 stars,

  • Impressive but I don't think the whole tune was nice to listen to. Remember it is the song that is important not how ir is made...

  • i think i understand what you want to say. i think so too. this song isnt the kind of music, most people would listen to in their freetime on a MP3-player or something.

it's just amazing and unbelievable HOW this guy did this song, and its a great feeling to watch the video. it gives me creeps at some spots.

dont hate me only because im saying my opinion.

    Peace!

  • @slasherman. I understand what you're saying.. but I don't think people regard this song so highly because of HOW it was made.

I just care that he manages to put out such a great homage to the original. The talent is in playing and composing, not the methods.

Or don't you like the tune to begin with? To each his own of course.

  • This is hands down the best thing i have seen on You Tube (3 years of barrel scraping) outstanding, keep up the good work Reyn.... LONG LIVE THE SID!!

  • SUPER!!!!!!!

  • one man band ftw

  • That's so awesome. My favorite tune at the moment for hanging out and relaxing. I could watch this for ages...

  • You took the words right out of my mouth - this track and the performance are simply spellbinding!!!

  • это нереально круто!

    it's amazing!

  • Words cannot begin to describe this level of awesomeness.

  • galway ftw

  • respect

  • Awesome is the only word I have to describe this.

  • Great work bro.

  • Great music! How did you use to hold and repeat that sequence?

  • Reyn the man!

  • love it

  • Masterpiece !!!

  • One word.

    Incredible !!!

  • Galway would be proud of this I reckon.

  • I'd be surprised if he's not seen em. Great covers though.. chip music seems to be the in thing... we knew it was years ago.. 20? years ago... funny how it's gone mainstream.. alas shame most of the "so called" talented producers can't program the SID for s*** Reyn, Galway, Follin and MANY more are up there with Hubbard / Tel etc. I guess it's what people know from games. 3 channels and sometimes a digi...look what they did =)

  • Very nice, wonderfull one man (re)createa make this music by himself. I didn't like the first 'muffled' guitar part though, that's my small critique. The second guitar part is allot better. Wonderful music.

  • Agreed, I thought it was amazing, except for the slight fumbly guitar bit at first.

  • It's called a bass guitar, and they sound like that.

  • Oh man...

Please do us some Rob Hubbard like Master of Magic or Delta !

Really was a delightful surprise to hear your performance. Was not expecting much and I am

astounded. I am not worthy etc... :)

  • Hubbard is really REALLY done a LOT.. not dissing Rob, but there are others who REALLY made amazing tunes that sadly seem forgotten at times.

  • One of the finest of Reyns remixes

  • Reyn, ur the master of c64 remixes

  • insane.........too much time on his hands?

  • Now that's what I call music!

  • Excellent. No really. Do you do any Rob Hubbard?

  • And this is just the beginning :)

Great innovative sense of retro-music !

  • Musical genius at work ;) As I said in my comment on your awesome Wizball rendition, you're up there with the cream of the crop mate..legends like David Gilmour, Mike Oldfield, Jarre, the awesome Porcupine Tree, & many others I regard as the best. Then sitting amongst them we've the mighty Reyn Ouwehand :-D Just look at you go on the keyboard at the end, FECKINGHELL - VERY FAST lol, & I thought Jan Warman from Children of Bodom/Warmen was a fast player on the keys...WOW! Stunning Reyn, THANKS :)

  • Expert

    Pro

    Sick

    Godlike <------------------

  • DEFINITELY ;)

  • Your a fucking legend!!!!

I love The Last Ninja 3 music...any chance of seeing you do a video of that? :D

  • In ten minutes, Reyn Ouwehand shows he has more talent than the last ten years of mainstream music combined.

  • so fuckin true..good comment ;)

  • There should be a way to sticky this comment to the top of the list. >_>

    Very true.

  • /truth

  • I'm speechless..that was absolutely amazing. I loved it.

  • Unbelievable! You're a legend already. I've enjoyed every second of it. Cheers!

  • Ryen,

  • A fantastic, emotional and challenging interpretation. Does great justice to the original. Absolutely love this to death.

  • Bon, je vais te le faire en francais : tu dechires mec !

    Dav
