Hey i got 3 really small angel fish, and a beta fish in a 10 gallon tank. The angel fishes keep attacking my beta idk what to do....will they stop after a couple days or so??
No, my neice and her husband now have the tank and fish. I am glad to report the yellow one is still going strong and the tank is now over 30 years old!! Don't build them like that anymore.
i have 2 just like yours.. check out my channel... and they dont tend to be over protective or agresive vith other fishes.... they are so cool... :D they are a little more relaxed than my gold fish or molly but i noticed that they are more smarter than the others :d just a little bit.. and courios too :D
I just bought an angel barely even 2cm and fins nipped to hell, i figured i might as well take him because 1. Fins will grow back 2. He'd probably get bullied till he died 3. He actually has awesome markings :D
do your two angelfish ge agressevie with one another? i was think about getting some and that would really help!!!!!!! and how big of a tank would 2 need and do i need a tank if i just get one or could i use a fish bowl??
@MrDarekx12 I wouldn't recommend keeping even 1 angel in a 5 gallon tank. Imo, they really need at least 20 gallons to be kept properly, but the larger the better. They also prefer taller tanks to longer ones. I keep a mated pair in my 35 gallon tank, and they are great looking fish, but tbh I wouldn't put them anywhere near a 5 gallon if I were you. try a small shoal of tetras, and maybe some Otocinclus cats. Shrimps are good too!
The fish shops would say that. Its up to you but personally I wouldn't. I just checked the Roma out online. These fish do need to be able to spread their wings occasionally and that tank looks a little constrictive to me although it looks nice enough.
@HEAVYMETALGODS86feb9 okay.... Why are you replying to a comment that is over a year old ? do you think i would be wating for an answer for over a year ??? lol
thats a hard one dwarf gouramis can survive in a 10 gallon but they wont be happy you could try zebra danios but im guessing you want bigger more interesting fish
heres one that youll have to do alot of research on but these guys will be perfectly happy in a 10 gallon since they only need 5 gallons for one
its called a "dwarf puffer"
they consist on meaty foods such as blood worms snails and stuff liek that but they are so adorable , they are freshwater youll need a heavily planted tank
well do a whole lotta research on them first there very hard fish to take care of and you can get them over the internet just search "dwarf puffer fish for sale"
Wouldn't recommend it as angels are semi-aggressive and tend to stake out an area of the tank as their own. Plus, they can grow quite large and in a 10 gallon, they would quickly outgrow it.
They were when this was taken. Unfortunately the black one has died this week so will have to get another. The yellow one is even bigger now and just as bright. Very bullish though.
Oh btw I have been trying to get him a little friend but every angel fish I've put in the tank he's killed :( I started with three and he offed the other two. I've bought six others (one at a time) since and they've all ended up belly up. Does anyone know why he hates his own kind so much? I thought they needed to be paired off.
I have a huge male angel fish and I have mine trained to follow my finger and he'll even take food from my hand. I think they're really smart. I really don't know much about them other then they're beautiful and my favorite fish. I've spent allot of time in front of my tank for the past two years and I know to some it may sound dumb but he's my little buddy and I tell him everything! :P
Awesome! How'd you get the angels to do that? Or is it just an angel thing? I've seen angels at the LFS do that, but I myself haven't had the privilege to own one. Are they really hard to take care of?
Yes then a small bubbler would be good. I've got the external spraybar down one end and an internal filter at the other in case of failures. The internal sprays bubbles and water and the spraybar stirs up the water pretty good as it hits the surface.
does it make alot o noise? and and which one do u recomend the the air pump ornimants that u see in stores where the frog opens his mouth or sumthing like that or would u recomend one of those small air pump hose that floats in the water?
I wouldn't recommend any as they ALL make too much noise. Go for a powerhead internal with a cannister attachment. Bubbles and filtration in silence!!!
hey i just about a 20 gallon, heater/filter , i have to wait a week befor i can put fish in, i keep hearking 20 galls is to small for a lot of fish, but 20 gallons looks plenty for rainbows and acouple other fish to live in i think, or even a small rainbow fish and some other fish, can some one help me pick fish for my 20 gall : ) thanks
No, we luckily live in a fairly hard-water area...(most of sth london is) and they seem to thrive on it. Weekly water change though of three gallons and internal and external canister filters
oh my, that looks like my angel fishes, there also big but my white one died:( . . . but the black one is still alive but hes not as big as your one though. cool fishes x
u guys please respond is it possible to have an angelfish with guppies? will they eat them? or are angelfish salt water? what do they eat? how much do they cost?
i'm not sure if you could have them together, i think they will fight alot. Some angelfish are saltwater and others are freshwater, i have the freshwater kind. angelfish eat blood worms, thats what i feed them, but in the wild they eat fry (baby) fish. i got mines for about $8 for 2 in new york.i have marble angelfish
laying eggs..the male got sick and died..they were a great couple always together...i still have the female she is big but sad i think..i am getting a male but i only see small ones at pet stores..i have to keep searching..
evry time im coming from school , they allways wait for me. they make clicking sounds , because they wanna have food XD. Thank god im stuck up with bloodworms or what you call it :D
I have just bought 3 juvenile angelfish for my 55 gallon. what do I need to do or feed them to make them grow? I am currently feeding flakes, frozen bloodworm and frozen brine shrimp. Please reply, thanks!
Sangoluvr9 is right. You can keep angelfish in as small as a ten gallon without any other fish. Angelfish aren't so much surprised by how limited thier space is but by the waste they produce. You will need good filteration.
