I say it again, this game its some of the coolest music in any Gradius game. The remake Gradius 2: Nemesis 94 for the sharp x68000 has an awesome arranged version of all the songs.
I have the emulator on my computer and sometimes i play Nemesis 94 just cause of the great work done on the music.
Can't believe I played this game through with an original MSX :) Can't remember how many times I died in level 8 pre-boss where objects was moving up and down. Absolutely one of the greatest 2d shooter ever made. Love the game, love the music.
After I finish my replay of Space Manbow (another side scrolling shmup) and I feel gutsy, I might do some recording of the Nemesis games. They are hard.

Man, I love Ancient Planet. It needs a remix so bad.

Hm... I do believe that the Floating Continent stage and the Flame Planet stage themes are reversed.

Great music.. but it is a littlebit too fast.. it should be somewhat slower.. maybe the reason is this is the NTSC version and I played PAL versions

@Ponderdrol That is the reason, yes.

Thanks for the great videos. You bring old memories back.
But I think and if I'm not wrong that stage 4 and 5 musics should be swapped. Am I right?
And thanks again for your great work.

A lot of cool memories.
I recorded years ago all the musics from Konami games, 'cause they were the best.

This is a good one, but I especialy liked the remake made in '93 (Nemesis '90 Kai) I can also say this is one of the harder Gradius games out there.

Thank you. It appears I am the only one on YouTube doing this sort of thing with music from MSX games.

Is this recorded from an emulator?
some of the channels are missing from the sound.
This is a fault with certain channels not being played loud enough the Toshiba MSX suffered this problem with the scc chip.
I know this because i still have the original carts and 2 msx computers.

As long as I can remember it sounds like this. Even on my old MSX. Never had the original ROM, though. I will check it out some time.

It IS better with a few more Db's for the PSG, imho.
That's also how I remember it but I'll admit that I had an 'equalizer' on it back then.

@oldskoolgamertje
Did you have a Philips MSX machine?
On those, the PSG is too quiet. Konami uses the PSG for drum sounds, which are almost inaudible on my Philips 8250 and 8280. So I modified them.

the game i took my name from many years ago METALION (although someone on youtube already had it so i had to spell it METAL1ON)

I did?! Oh, I thought I was thorough enough, given the time I spend on researching the titles and composers... :-/
