  • Blue Diamond rice can be used. It's perfect.

  • Wow, thank you! It was interesting

  • Dominican rice, can be used for anything.... even Onigiri.

  • gemuk. macam paham nak buat . rasa confirm cam taik.

  • why is it that onigiri that we bought from the store is much more delicious than the one we made? is there some kind of secret ingredient?

  • @MsIdontcare18 If you made it this way then there's no mirin in it~ Mirin is cooked on the stove with sugar and some water which sweetens and flavours the rice! it deinitley makes a difference. [Cooking it removes the alcohol]

  • I've got two small questions, first you don't have to use tuna right so do you have any recomendations outside of that?

and second, do you eat them cold or do they have to be lukewarm???

  • @TheShadowsyaoran Chicken, shrimp, spam, pickled veges, salmon~ Be careful with the heat of the rice and cold seafood~ the temperatures are perfect for bacteria so either have it hotter than lukewarm or cold, imo

  • The plural of onigiri is onigiris? Or is that engrish?

  • @Zadamanim Onigiri is just onigiri, plural or singular. In English, it's called a riceball (singular) or riceballs (plural). Pointing that out just in case you didn't know. Or were you only posting that comment just so you could put "Engrish" in a sentence?

  • I fell in love with you Mabel, hahaha

  • her english is very good,,

  • can you make sushi rice in a pot? I no has rice cooker >.<

  • I suck at making even rice. Just tried it and it came out way too gooey this time. Last time it was too firm and the rice at the bottom of the pan kind of... burnt... o.o;;;

I'm just not destined to make even onigiri. *goes to find some other person to make her food*

  • Great tutorial! You mentioned that we may use different fillings, and I was wondering what else (besides tuna) is commonly used as filling? :-)

  • k im goining to atempt to make them hope everything goes well

  • It's a good tutorial but I think you should make your videos shorter.

  • Mabel is freaking gorgeous.

  • Nom nom nom ^w^ Eating it in a few minutes.. :D Ayzunz are awesome..

  • It worked with Thai rice for me.

  • ey beauty gurl what's cookin

  • Way to dark I quit watching 10 secs in I feel it was a good video if I watched it

  • Thanks so much for this video! My sister and I are going to try and make them and most likely fail miserably! xD

  • Wait, Onigiri has filling? I thought it's only Rice with seaweed wrapped around o_O Does it need filling to be called Onigiri?

  • @pakhavit No, it's optional.

  • @pakhavit Onigiri is rice balls. you dont need to use filling, but is great if you use a good filling. i like agedama and green onions. Some times a mix of Canned Tuna, cream cheese and mayonaise sometimes i use Wasabi too. My mother love a mix of miso and green onions. You can put what ever you want you dont even need the seaweed

  • how long do you cook the rice?

  • which tuna tomato tuna or something else

  • I can't help it but you're really cute x3

  • @PurpleRem you are ^.^

  • hey hey , can i use something other than tuna :D ?

  • @kampfer91 ofc, but you shouldn't use runny ingredients :)

  • @ soralummie10: I don't think it has to be Japanese mayo. I've used Hellman's and it's turned out yummy for me.

  • does the mayo have to be japanese mayo?

  • @soralummie10 Nah, but it tastes awesome. :D

  • @soralummie10 no, it doesn't have to be. The mayo in the vid is Swedish mayo :P

  • om nom nom nom. thanks for this. :)

  • What if you don't have a sushi rice and rice cooker? D:

  • @lego54546 First buy some sushi rice then just cook it on a stove instead

  • you look beautiful.

  • Ofc you open the sushi rice XD

  • should it be sushi rice what about basmati

  • @CaptainBas basmati is a long grain rice. it won't be able to stick together to form onigiri properly. try kuhkoro rose (sp?) rice.

  • @tofu4tortoise When I only have basmati I add some flower or dried potato or maybe even rice flower :p But sushi rice is expensive here :S

  • おにぎり

  • I need japanese rice D: any sold in venezuela?? T.T

  • @0101susudidoCamicami Plain short or medium grain(grano mediano) works just as well.

  • @exeuroweenie ah!! muchas gracias!! :D

  • i cant wait to try at home but im gonna try some bbq chicken thx for the vid

  • @kamelele Yeah thats the great thing about Onigiri. You don't always need tuna, you can use anything you want that goes well with rice!

  • @1000MileLost yeah rice balls kick ass :-)

  • Goog tutorial other than 1 small thing, the video omits that fact that you have to add WATER to the rice cooker, along with the rice. Hopefully most people would have common sense for this part, but I'm sure theres people out there that WILL ruin their rice cooker following this xD

  • I don't like nori so can I make this without it??

  • @1msbeanpie Ya, you can leave the Nori. It's more like a part you can grab on easily. ^^ At least, that's what I think. o.o

  • hey people xD

  • Sweet, now I know what I was doing wrong when I tried to make this...

    btw... it was everything... :-(

  • you're soo cute XD

  • does it matter if you eat it cold or hot?

  • @1407tommy Nope! :) but I think it tastes better when its warm. just sayin

  • @1407tommy i would think you can eat it either way. cold as in room temperature :3 umm if you put it in the fridge the rice might get hard / dry, so it might not taste as good.

  • What kind of rice do you use???

  • @asizalee123 you need to use sushi rice which you make sushi with. you can buy it in any supermarket stores

  • @asizalee123 sushi-rice ;)

  • im definitely gonna make me som onigiri....well maybe 2moro

  • @Blooberry95 Well now Brock is a Confused Pokemon Doctor. x3

  • @Blooberry95 lol i remember that episode. later in another episode they call them popcorn balls

  • @MiyabiYukira135 Wouldn't that mean they would be crunchy? FFFF CRISPY RICE BALLS.

  • @Blooberry95 thats what i thought then in a few other episodes they jest replaced with with sandwhichs and crackers >.> 4kids hates riceballs i guess

  • @MiyabiYukira135 That's so.....stupid . A .

  • eeewww u got it sooo wet..and moist

  • ( ゚д゚)ポカーン

  • What happens if you use regular rice? I notice regular rice gets somewhat sticky just after you cook it and seems to retain a shape more or less in the fridge, but I dunno. ^^;

  • the music made yawn.anyway, nice dress and vid.

  • @babybunbunful,i think so 2

  • this is awesome:O

  • whats the difference between sushi rice and white rice

  • @oxxxhinatahyuugaxxxo the main difference is that "sushi" rice is more sitcky, so it wont fall apart afterwards.

  • @oxxxhinatahyuugaxxxo Sushi rice has vinegar, salt and sugar, where white rice is just salt.

    その方法は日本では一般的ではないけど

    おもしろいね

Is the salt put in water?

takes care. The saltiness of the rice ball is important

It is not a general way in Japan.

However, it is an interesting way.

  • you can cook the rice normally in the rice cooker?

  • haha ive seen them in cubes before so it definitely doesnt HAVE to be a triangle. in case anyone is panicing because theirs doesnt look like a triangle.

  • @OHSHCshows4654 fuck you man, i know how to speek japanese just well.

  • Comment removed

  • @OHSHCshows4654 In fact, it is "oishi", and you can shape the onigiris like in ball forms too :/ not just triangles... Or whichever shape you can imagine C:

  • Comment removed

I thought that onigiri was just rice ball with salt. :P
