Alright, considering this species isn't endangered and can be a threat to mankind due to the fact that it is aggressive I have no problem seeing it be caught and killed. There are plenty of predatory fish around Florida to take its place on the food chain. Plus, we do not know what exactly happened after the video stopped. So, making assumptions about others is cruel. Personally, if it were edible then I would do what Native Americans did: use every part of the animal to sustain life. The End.

@northie66 I see your point :] However, as a life long fisherman I'm just letting you know that sharks and big fish in general don't need to be reminded there is food in shallow water. They come into shallow water because there is a plentiful amount of fish there. There is a reason why people catch huge fish in the shallows, the big fish come there to feed. Also, 90% of the time land based shark fisherman drop their baits way deeper then people swim (300-800 yard bait drops are the norm).

Kayaks. Do your research before you decide to say somebody is full of shit. Me and my brother are land based shark fisherman. We have Penn Senator reels, which can hold up to about 1000+ yards of 50-80lb line. We set up the bait, put the bait on a kayak, and we kayak the bait out as far as we desire depending on the amount of line on the reel. Most people don't do drops past 600 yards but every once in a while somebody does.

The sharks are in the water regardless of if somebody is fishing or not. My brother caught a 7'9" lemon shark last week only about 150 yards off the beach. Sharks can come as close as they want to, fishing has nothing to do with it.

I have great respect for these creatures and abide by the laws protecting these animals from being over fished. Ive learned a great deal fishing for them and trust me if these fishermen wanted to keep their catch they probably would have used a gaff. It has been my experience that most shark fisher men throw them back. One this big i would probably throw back simply because thats more meat than i would want or need. Respect our oceans and abide by all fish and game laws.
