"Why don’t the Christians in the West do anything to help us? "
These quotes certainly reflect the reality we all face-at least until very recently- Christian communities in the West that are, for the most part, ignorant about the true plight of Palestinians in general and their Palestinian brothers & sisters in particular. Friends of Sabeel –North America is trying to make a difference in that regard, however small.
“We have received far more support and comfort from the Hezbollah in Lebanon than from our fellow Christians in the West,” remarked one Christian Palestinian refugee in Damascus. “I want to know, why don’t the Christians in the West do anything to help us? Are the teachings of Jesus nothing but empty slogans to them?-The American Conservative, May 24, 2004, from which I excerpted from in "KEEP HOPE ALIVE" based upon the memories of a '48 Muslim refugee from the Galilee.

@KeeperOfTheWord I am NOT the eileen fleming of NPR! But after OPERATION CAST LEAD, an NPR editor contacted me to do an interview with a Palestinian who had relocated to New Orleans. I would have loved too, but i am not on the NPR payroll -in fact nobody pays me for what i do, but ALL i do is for LOVE of God and it is people like you who bless me!
