I owned a mustang. I have a street in my town that I use for practicing street racing with long stretches and many turns. I ran it in about 3 mins. I sold the mustang and bought a cobalt lt sport :D. I ran the same course and got through it in 2 minutes and 7 seconds. Cobalts will out run a mustang anyday. And btw. I have raced against an 03 cobra and an 06 cobra and have beaten them both on the course. Cobalts FTW. :D

I'm an owner of an ecotec car right now that will be getting sprayed with bolt ons a 75 shot, but I am not going terminator hunting anytime soon. Seriously, you're living in a fantasy land if you think you can go run down 03-04 svt cobras in your cobalt. Oh, and ford never made an 2006 cobra, nice try.

both purpos built i think the evo will out run the cobra in the 1/4

the cobra could probubly make more power (record for an evo is 1033awhp) but the lack of bottomend and awd would allow the evo to launch allot harder then the cobra with a supercharger and rwd thats allot of torque and only 2 tires to take it, we all know that is the making for allot of smoke and long rubber stripes lol

my evo only has a little work in it (making abtou 450whp depending on the boost setting)

but even stock with 287hp evo vs cobra mustang the evo will eat it alive

in handling,acceleration,looks,pr­ice,reliability,and it is better as for lower levels of road noise higher quality interior slicker shifting tranny

no matter who you are you cannot deny the fact that the evo is a force to be reckoned with!

no stock top speed is 143 (governer limited, tho they will hit like 160 or so un governed and that is with less than 300hp)

shit 100 thats only 3300rpm in 5th

and they rev to 6500rpm stock (tho mine will hit 8500 and keep asking for more with just minor work) and not that was not an ignorant comment an evo will rape any stock mustang arround a corner ever built

and just think the shitty mustang needs 4.6l to get 300hp the evo gets 287 (mine, new ones are 315hp) with only 2.0l

tho i have seen stock evo's put down at the wheels 280hp witch is only 7 off of what they are rated at the crank from the factory

and no it don't fall on it's face on the straights i pulls from 80-130 with no problem (tho you can start to feel some drag at about 115-120 just because i have the rs without the spoiler to even out the air)

im telling you take an evo for a ride they are wayy more that you could expect, their amazing little cars

no the mustang is far from the fastest car out there (don't get me wrong so is the evo)

but even you have to admit the evo is amazing ammount of car for the money (i got my rs for 22k with only 12k miles on it 1 year old) and it gets 35mpg and runs 12.4-12.7 depending on weither or not i really "launch" it

plus it can verry easily be used as a family sedan and has on a couple cases been mistaken for just a run of the mill sedan (but it runs 12's not 17's lol)

a cobra is definatley one of the fastest. non supercars out there. they respond to mods extremely well and the aftermarket support is there.

i got my 03 with 17k miles for 23k.

4 dr just not my style.

i like my "grocery getter" it is such a sleeper because it don't have the wing or hood scoop people think it's just a lancer with an evo body kit (people actually think its a ricer because of that but its really an evo rs, hahah how little they know) and the cobra isin't to bad i just don't like superchargers they are restricting on things such as boost and innercooling

i know my gtp is supercharged and makes good torque (about 450ft-lbs at 3500rpm) but i like my evo better and turbos
