Jesus looks different in different people depending on upbringing, personality, gifting etc... But the word of God stands! Willie's lyrics are all about Jesus! This video is a good example of contextualization. Thank you Father for sending your son Jesus Christ through whom we have the forgiveness of sin! Praise be to God!!!
Yeah this video may look secular but you gotta focus on the lyrics and the intent of the artist. The generation today prefers hip hop; therefore, God is gonna use it as an instrument to spread His name. While Satan is using secular hip hop to poison young people's minds, God is countering by using talented rappers to spread the Word and expose the lies in secular music, no matter how rough their exterior may look, as long as they rep Christ. That's all that matters.
@koreanbrown brother. Please check that plank in your eye at the door. God bless you and your ministry, but if you don't know Pastor G or Will then Please don't judge them. Division gives the enemy steam.
@soultheinterrogator If we read the scriptures in context we would understand that that scripture about the plank in your eye has to do with hypocritically judging someone while doing the same thing. The word of God says judge rightly and the standard is his word. Using scripture as a dart as you just did is wreckless. I don't have a plank in my eyes brother.
@KoreanBrown my point is that you are quick to point out flaws in a brother in Christ when you do not know his heart. His ministry is the streets. His ministry is hip hop. Unfortunatly, hip hop is a very flashy life style and he has to use that so street kids can relate to Christ. Your ministry is no better than Wills or Pastor G's That is what I meant by plank of wood.
@soultheinterrogator that is still using the scripture out of context...My ministry is no better? Who said anything about my ministry? That is a cliche. Listen I saw a video that is supposed to represent the kingdom of God I didn't recognize the kingdom in it so I made my comments.
@KoreanBrown What is the kingdom of God supposed to look like. Do you expect will to wear a suit and tie and sing hymms? Nothing wrong with that. BUT, we are talking about making God Relevant to a Godless Generation. Seattle is the most unchurched and Aethiest city in America. I am not using scripture out of context. Matthew 7 is all about not Judging others or you will be judged. Your judging Will and Pastor G
@soultheinterrogator Quick to point out a flaw? I didn't point out a flaw in the rapper just what was filmed in the video because other strangers viewing this page don't know his heart either and might think this is what being a disciple of Christ looks like. I don't agree with conforming to the world to "win" the world so I guess we will never agree. Lets all end this in love. Continue to seek out the heart of God.
@KoreanBrown 1 Cor. 9:19-23 It speaks of becoming all things to all people. And you are right, if you want to end this in Love then you should apologize to Will and Pastor G. I apologize for coming to you in conflict. You need to see that there are other aspects to bringing the Lost to Christ.
@soultheinterrogator Also paul speaks about division as well he says division is necissary because it shows who God is really pleased with. If we both call ourselves followers of Jesus Christ but one of us doesn't match with Jesus don't you think there is going to be division? No I don't know Pastor G or Will. All I have to go by is how they represent themselves/God through what I see. It is called fruit.
Great video. Great message Willie Will! Keep goin' hard for the kingdom!! Mr. Backes I see your fruit. Keep doin' what you do. Only what we do for Christ will last.
I can honestly say God is VERY proud!! And I'm proud to make Him proud!! Thank God for 1 Samuel 16:7 or people like Mr. KoreanBrown would discourage me. But in this video, sinners are hearing and dancing to the Gospel. Listen to the words...the message is not compromised. The same way Peter was called to the Jews and Paul was called to the Gentiles...maybe Mr. KoreanBrown was called to minister to the church and inside the church while I am called to reach the lost and unbelieving generation
@williewillgodswill Well said Willie Will!! Keep doing your thing for the kingdom of God man, you got my prayers and support. Song is a banger too! God bless!
@williewillgodswill wow will you know you sound very offended. Let me genuinely apologize for putting you in that state. but this comment of yours... can you honestly say God is pleased. You put a video up here not me. did you really expect everyone to agree with it? If i put a video up here you'd have reason to make a resolve about me.
@williewillgodswill No will I wasn't "called" to minister in the way you mockingly retorted. I care about this decieved world in and out of the "church" by the way the church is the collective body of believers not a building. Listen man for real I love you. crush the offense and continue to seek after Gods heart. Take care
@williewillgodswill Don't ever stop what you're doing. You keep me strong. You keep me on God's path. If it weren't for people like you, I'd still be an atheist. Your powerful, uplifting music keeps my ears off the bad stuff that keeps me away from God. You remind me where I'm supposed to be going and keep me from going astray. You keep me in my Bible. As there are many different kinds of people in this world, God uses many ways to reach those people. You are one.
Everyone please pause, step back and take a look at yourself using the word of God as your mirror. Can You Say God Is Pleased. Now let me say this as well. I know that what happened during the shoot or even the purpose of some of the scenes are lost in translation but that means we aren't being diligent and responsible. We are salt an light. If we lose our flavor or become dark then who are we? I am open to any respectful criticism as long as it's in love and in line with the word of God.
@KoreanBrown KoreanBrown, first of all, I am a little concerned that you are drawing conclusion about these people before you know the full story. Number one, we are ministers that have a mission to reach those that are lost in real secular nightclubs. We do not promote cussing or a thuglike lifestyle.
@gregbackesdp greg my conclusion? I commented on what I saw in their video. What they created. It galvanated me to address all those who saw it. Some who know the word of God but others who don't and have been taught the wrong thing so are more easily prone to deception.
@gregbackesdp greg my conclusion? I commented on what I saw in their video. What they created. It galvanized me to address all those who saw it. Some who know the word of God but others who don't and have been taught the wrong thing so are more easily prone to deception.
@KoreanBrown Yes, we reach people who have dollar signs on their clothes and do not look like a version of a clean cut Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood Christian (God Bless them too). These Christian rappers are not mean or live a thug lifestyle. Why would you judge them by their appearance? Most of us came out of a drug addicted or gang banging lifestyle. Now that we are saved and serving Christ, we believe that we must be loud and bold for the Lord.
@gregbackesdp Greg Let me ask a question. Since it is obvious that I don't know the creators of this video. How do you expect me to see anything but what they do and say in this video. You say i'm unjustly judging. But we all judge and make decisions based on what we see everyday. Thats why I said based on the image that they provided I wouldn't walk through the people in this video with my family. Which is a shame when we are all supposed to be disciples of Christ.
@KoreanBrown Do you see inappropriate sexual behavior? Do you see disrespect? We go harder than the devil when it comes to snatching people from the flames. I don't expect you to like the style of music or dress how we dress, but please pray with us and believe with us as we reach a very hard and lost group of people. Paul says, "I am like the weak in order to win the weak. I am like the Jew in order to win the Jew."
@gregbackesdp greg you would be surprised. I love holy hip hop thats why I came to this video. I where jeans and sneakers most of the time. I pray for this lost world every day because I have a passion for Christ and biblical holiness. What spurred me to comment were the wordly images in a christian video. Usually I don't because I know when people feel a rebuke they usually attack first then ponder later if at all.
@KoreanBrown We do not condone unholy behavior. The song speaks about righteousness, holiness and being bold for the Gospel. By the way, the cars were donated to Godz Gang ministry to promote the Gospel when driving on the road. Please do not judge without knowing the heart or the mission.
@gregbackesdp Greg you say don't "judge" without knowing the heart or the mission.... Can I make a suggestion. In the next video let the person watching the video know what you expect us to assume while watching the video, like maybe saying the car was donated so that ministers can get around. Yet and still the way it was portrayed had nothing to do with ministry.
@gregbackesdp I want to just agree with the three comments from a year ago that you posted in reply to KoreanBrown. I also think it is good of KoreanBrown to examine what he doesn't see as what he recognizes as holy. We are to help steer each other back to God and His Son, the Word made flesh. We are to be as iron sharpens iron, and when that happens, there will be sparks. I may not see things from KoreanBrown's point of view, but I think he is right to comment if he feels led to do so. =)
@KoreanBrown The pharisees judged Jesus because he ate with tax collectors and prostitutes. We eat with gang members, prostitutes and pimps often. We preach the Gospel and many of them have left their old lifestyles to seek full-time ministry. We have seen people healed, filled with the Holy Spirit. But we didn't wear a suit when we did it.
@gregbackesdp Greg can I share something with you. If you read that scripture again you will see that Jesus was eating with his disciples when the sinners came in and sat with him because something they saw intrigued them. I see a big difference. I never mentioned a suit. dude I don't wear suits. It's about more than that. I guess it makes no sense to debate it. We will see when our king returns. Continue to seek after Gods heart.
@KoreanBrown Man looks at the outward, which is what you are doing. God looks at the heart. Get to know who Willie Will is. Get to know me. Ask us about the fruit of our ministry. How do you test if it is of God? Are people saved, are people delivered, does their lifestyle change. Don't think we are unholy because of how we dress or because we use the hip hop culture as a tool to reach this generation.
@gregbackesdp Ok so if you saw me at a strip club drinking out of a glass with dollar bills in my hand. Would you assume I was enjoying the nights entertainment or drinking apple juice counting the change I received from the bartender while ministering to the lost. (Yes I know it's a stretch) The point is I determine how people see me.
@gregbackesdp No everyone isn't going to agree with the word of God which is how I form my opinion but we as ambassadors for Christ must continue to use that as our standard. How bout making a more conscious effort to show through your videos, which is the only way I can know you, that you are not like the world.
@KoreanBrown I can understand your feelings... But, you have to understand this generation and ones upcoming. I agree, that the video looks secular, but throughout he represents the name Jesus Christ. There is nothing inappropriate, its just relation to hard communities. Those communities need the gospel spread, and relating to them is key.
Before anyone responds in offense let me say. I came from this world. I was "saved" but living a carnal life so Im not ignorant to this whole... way. But I was finally saved for real. I heard the lord call me out and I obeyed. My life was totally changed. Am I perfect? No but I strive to live according to the lords standards not the worlds or even my fleshly desires.---
Mean mugging, thuggish apparel, outlandish cars, and club scenes. This looks like there is an appetite for the world. Money symbols and chains hanging, suggestive hand gestures and way too many references to worldly weaponry. I wouldn't feel comfortable walking through a crowd of these men with my wife and two children.---
I respectfully disagree with the images shown in this video. I believe we as followers of Jesus have the responsibility to portray what the word of God says about how we should live our lives. When we are born again we are supposed to allow the Holy Spirit to guide all of our ways, die to the old ways and put on the new man not retrofit it with the dead things that had us ensnared.---
