  • Thanks for this I knew I could always see video here, I used the money I brought for Ballon ride in Bagan to buy a poor family there a motorcycle. Burmese are the best part.

  • Paraiso na terra

  • Thanks a lot. Now that I've seen this, I have to rearrange my whole plans for travels in Burma so that I can include Bagan!! Hopefully, I can balloon but if not I'm sure by land is spectacular as well.

  • Thanks, Booyah, I will go for sure. Thailand is my first love and Burma has always been my hope and expectations. But now i know i will go to visit, a little bit worried about getting about when i am there transport wise. Is it possible for you to PM me with any advise or info that might be of help.

    Thanks,

    Billy.

  • @thaibillyboy : First of all, the Burmese people are very, very friendly, you don't have to be afraid of them or of working with them. I honestly couldn't believe how well I was treated, even in the big city of Yangon. If you have the $, then hire a private tour guide. If not, then get the Lonely Planet book on Burma and use it. Believe it or not, the hardest part is making the decision to go Burma. Enjoy yourself.

  • Thank you for the wonderful video. It's now made me book to go halfway around the world to view the same! Burma looks awesome. Absolutely amazing.

    Billy.

  • @thaibillyboy : I'm flattered that my video has inspired you to go there. That balloon trip was certainly worth it. The view was awesome!

  • Thank you Stan for the video. I was in the balloon in January 2007. It was the best experience I had in my entire life ! It is not only the flight in the balloon but also the fabulous views on the pagodas and the area around them; it is like unreal ! I went back in March this year to do another flight, but unfortunately on 2 days there was too much wind. Hope to visit beautiful Myanmar and it´s wonderful people again. Franny.

  • at 0:52, simply amazing view. Nothing could match that view. envy you.

  • @nangamyatmon It was a great trip. The temples and pagodas at dawn were amazing.

  • Thanks Booyah, It's a great clip for my country. As I'm a Burmese architect, Bagan is a favorite place for me. I may want to take my foreigners friends for this trip in this year.

  • You certainly have a lot to be proud of in Burma. It is a beautiful place with warm and friendly people. I hope I get to go back there someday.

  • Gotta try this... Was this an early morning flight? Looks like a great way to see and photograph Bagan. How long is the ride and how much does it cost?

  • It was an early morning flight. We lifted off just as the sun came up. I paid $250 for what was supposed to be an hour flight but ended up being one hour and twenty minutes. It was worth every penny. Don't go to Bagan without doing this flight!

  • Hope that was $250 per ballon and not per person!

  • It was $250 per person. Sorry.

  • Yikes! I thought everything was cheap in Myanmar. Who runs this operation? The dictator general?

  • If I remember correctly, it is an Australian firm called "Balloons over Bagan."

  • no - it is a privat company and my husband is a pilot of them. The price is like every balloonflight price in the world and if you see how much it is to buy a balloon, you would understand the prices.

  • Looks awesome and worth the money as you might not ever have the chance to do it again. Our balloon is booked in Bagan for March and the days are being counted down.

  • Two of the people who took the flight with me, went back to Burma for a personal tour. They had a great time but the only thing they wished they could do again was that balloon flight.

  • Why? what happen?

Better tell me cos im planning to do the same when i go back this time.

  • They just didn't have the opportunity to take another flight. I'm sure the balloon flights are still happening.

  • Awesome!!!

  • Thank you. When I shot it I knew it was my best work ever. I loved doing the editing for it.

  • Hi Stan, Thanks for sharing that with me. It must have been fabulous. (I am the one going to China, that bought from your store today)

  • Ann:

I'm you liked the movie and the oil. The balloon flight was wonderful. When the burner wasn't running I could actually hear the Buddhists chanting down below. It was like the scenery had a soundtrack. Stan

  • Yes, Bagan was great. Loved the Buddhists, people, shrines and the balloons.

  • Bagan, one of the greatest place I have ever been to.

  • Hello - thank you so much for the nice video - by the way one of the pilots is my husband.

We live since 6 years in winter in Myanmar and it is my second home.

This video makes me real homesick.

    Andrea

  • Andrea:

Thank you for the compliment. I loved making the video. Your husband, the other pilots and ground crew were very professional. That balloon flight was the highlight of the trip to Burma.

I know what you mean about being homesick. I was there in Burma only a few weeks and I hated to leave. I loved the country and especially the people.

    Stan

  • Stan: Hope to see you again in the balloon or in Bagan.

For me is the same. I love the country and especially the people too. It is like my second home and I´m very happy to go back in Autumn.

    Andrea

  • how did you contract the fly?? You can contract ir ones you are in Bagan??

  • I went to Burma on a our operated by Steve Webster and his company Escape2Nepal. His company made the arrangements with the Balloons Over Bagan company in Yangon, Myanmar.

  • Just wow.

I've been to Bagan twice, but, I never had the opportunity to take the balloons.

We locals won't dare to do it...

    Thanks a lot!

    Hope you enjoyed the country.

  • I did enjoy the country. Mostly, I enjoyed the people. All were very friendly and fun to talk to. All this noise about Myanmar was overstated and was the opposite of what I thought I was going to see. The balloon trip was awesome, but so were the people.

  • So nice to read all things positive about the country and the people. Get fed up with reading on various sites all the hate and venom from various sections. I like you atitude BooyahStan and hope my enthusiasm matches yours on my trip to Myanmar.

  • I have to admit that I didn't want to go to Burma. It is very un-PC to go there due to what the junta is doing to its people. However, once I was there on the ground with the regular folk, I felt like I was doing more good than harm. Burma is one place I'd move to and away from the USA. I'd love to have a little house next to a Buddhist monastery and listen to their chants every morning. What great people.

  • Thanks for the great clip and great comments regarding my country Booyah Stan.

Despite the negativity there, im glad some ppl like you find peace and serenity. I've thought it lost it from the news that ive heard!

Well, i hope things will beginning to light up real QUICK soon to prevent anymore further despair to the innocent people there. Praying....

  • really nice, isn't it?

  • That's right. It was the highlight of the trip.

  • pretty cool

  • how much did it cost?

  • It cost $250 to fly in the balloon. We had a nice long flight of one hour twenty minutes.
