  • fuck you all til death

  • Iggy you no talent a-hole suck a lemon.

  • does anybody else think he looks like stuart from mad tv?

  • Vomiting with style

  • He sounds like a young Charlie Sheen.

  • @berezin99 At first I was kind of offended by your comment, but you're right haha

  • Damn Iggy is smart, sincere, and damn charming!

  • wtf is with the cross Iggys wearing? is he a mason?

  • Gzowski said "Toronto is like New York, run by the Swiss".

  • listen to the song punk rock by Mogwai, they use this speech in the background of it

  • iggy is so full of himself

  • where do u like hear it come out of?

  • Respond to this video..."I Forgot your name!" lmao.. priceless.

  • iggy's great nuff sed

  • mogwaaaaaai

  • "You don't have to call me sir"

"no I don't but I forgot your name" LOL

  • Shit, this is great!

Where is the rest of the interview /show?

    Anyone??

    Thanks for posting :-)

  • I love the hair cut and colour, too. He looks a little like Anthony Kiedis in this clip. Yummy!!

  • yeah Kiedis stated that Iggy has been a major, if not the, influence on his look

  • Oh really, I didn't know that the similarity in looks was intentional. It is uncanny how much they look alike.

  • They do look very much alike.. I also think you can see a hint of Robert Downey Jr in the face here

  • You're right, his features are very much like Downey's, especially the eyes.

  • Wow!! Did Iggy really look that good back then? I can't believe it's the same guy that I've always known from the MTV videos. Beautiful big eyes and cute face--gorgeous!!

  • Oh! he is the greatest.

  • Mixing heroin with coke is called a 'speedball' and makes a person behave like... well like this.

Way cooler than selling insurance; but hey, we can't stay young forever and Iggy still is a hell of a performer on stage.

  • This is great. Peter is a Canadian hero who handled the tense interview with a coolness not seen often; Iggy was on top of the matter and they seem to have liked each other. Brilliant.

  • dose Iggy ever wear a shirt?

  • The ego on some people, is incredible, thankfully he grew up since then.

  • i forgot your name loll

  • As in all artistthe crowd destorys them they gave him glasses and he rolled on them the people consume the artist

  • So inspiring!!! and not just because it's coming from iggy pop.Even though he is great."To all the men who give it there all. This not so young man shed a tear and hugged his bulldog. He just so get's it.Lately ive been thinking getting a so called "career" but seeing this., it's gonna be along while before i throw in the towel.I just can't with hearing how bad music is just makes me want to play my own music.

  • Spectacular and unique! GREAT IGGY POP!

  • INTELLIGENCE is made of this!!!

  • 1:01:hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • IGGY! i love him! he is a great guy!

  • that was good natured

  • lol, i love his smile at 1:02

  • great interview 2

  • great interview. if only a pop artist today would have the guts to be as sincere as Iggy!!!

  • ahhhh iggy such a contemptuous child he was ....... nice diction tho - now he's an establishment icon of such tabby like nature ...... how expected ....... traitor!!!!

  • ...don't you just love to see a white bread anglo from the CBC canadian establishment of Montreal get a train derailed up his fixation hole... (???)

  • Mogwai - Punk Rock:

  • Punk Rock? What is it? It's crap. In MY OPINION.

    MINE.

  • well no one gives a shit so keep it to yerself

  • No buddy. =] It's my opinion and I'm allowed to have one.

  • Not everyone with opinion need express it.

  • Well, guess what? I did.

  • Give'em hell iggy ! OY OY!!!

  • Obviously he didn't perform any songs in this clip.

I was expressing excitement over the way he handled this talk show host. Nothing more - nothing less.

How you got all of that out of a 5 word sentence, I'll never know.

  • Alright, I get it. You're an unpopular troll who wants to start shit, be that as it may - Sometimes a sentence is just a sentence. You read way too much into what I wrote. I'm no poser, in fact I'm totally uncool. So, bye bye.

  • "oy oy oy" lol

  • That's "oy". That's different.

  • whatever you say inspector

  • he looks like pee wee herman paul ruben

  • I hate his hair like that

  • Iggy is my GOD! /

-You don't have to call me 'sir'.

-No, I don't have to... I forgot your name.

Love him love him love him.

  • long live iggy...

he did his own thing man and thats the point.

  • If Iggy looked back on this today, I wonder what he would say? He's defensive, offensive and angry about absolutely nothing. I know that being completely out of line was a big thing back then, but this is just stupid, especially in ligh of the fact that punk rockers coined the term themselves and were very big on it.

  • its against it thats why its punk fuckin rock!!

    lol

  • Then why is he denying it? Come on, this interview is beyond insulting to the viewers, it's insulting to Iggy.

  • i was joking lol idk why he might have been high or some shit lol jk

  • it's funny how on edge iggy is ... i guess from being different in the U.S ... he was used to getting shit on by elders.... wake up iggy, it's the great white north!

  • Wow...... that guy was OWNED. lol

  • no one got owned in this clip, obviously. it's just an interesting part of history. a real gem of a clip too.

  • well, I think Iggy kicked his ass.

  • IGGY POP IS MY HEROE

  • 1:47 Zooey Deschanel

  • god i love this, mogwai sampled it in their song, and it just sounds right

  • Hey CBC please post the rest of it

  • i love him <3.

  • Great. need more

  • UUUUUrrrrrrpppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Iggy Pop rules... he even vomits on stage... If that's not cool then i don't know what is

  • Don't forget the punk-rock girls Iggy!

  • mauled by the pop.

  • "with some style" Mr. osterberg is a born showman

  • yeah im sure you guys would remain "true punkers" if you got big like iggy :/

  • pssh iggy wasn't a flake, you douche. The concept of an alternative style of music was new in 1977, so everyone who got into that genre, adapted to it slowly and may have sounded flakey. It's like when a 13 year old dicovers real meaning in music and adapts to the life style it comes with, of course they would need time to evolve and perfect it. Same with early punk rock era musicians :P

  • what a flake...iggy not the host.

  • Now he does ads for car insurance.

    The good die young.

  • With you on that one. What the fuck happened, Iggy? You were on fire here. Now you're selling insurance and selling your name to Lego Rock band.

  • what the fuck does that suppose to mean? Jim cheated death like nobody did. Tell me a another 60-year-old rockstar who has tens of thousands of fans screaming in front of stage singing his music and i'll tell you ure right. U cant? Then shut the fuck up you idiot.

  • ummmmm how about The Fuckin' Rolling Stones

  • sorry i meant tens of thousands of young fans.

  • and I still say:how about The Rolling Stones

  • rolling stones can suck a fat one

  • Um...the Rolling Stones, The Eagles...basically any 60's/70's band that's still dragging their old bodies onstage to make a buck.

Deal with it - the old Iggy DID die back in the day. The one that kicks around now plays golf with his dentist and gets paid to advertise for insurance companies.

Finally, I didn't call you names, so don't call me an idiot, you sad fuck.

  • i agree, doesn't it make you cringe when bob dylan comes out with a new one when the mid 60 records were just genius?

  • You just called him a name.

  • I'm in love with him

  • Iggy rocks \m/

    He's hot too . LOL

  • Where do ya like to hear it come out of?

LOL...and Gzowski wasn't even on drugs!

  • I like Iggy pops interviews. He's just natural and funny and always polite. But there is a underlying current of menace/mischievousness His stage performances spoke volumes anyway. He didn't have to do the snarly Johnny Rotten thing

  • The punk meets the cheeshead.

  • the other guy,was too quick for iggy.what ever nonsence he was talking about.he still had a witty answer, that even made iggy laugh.

  • lmfao

"no i dont have to, i forgot your name" XD

  • iggy in this moment almost looks like Philip Oakey

  • Gzowski #1

  • Im bored!

  • I'm the chairman of the bored, I'm a lengthy monologue I'm livin' like a dog... I'm bored !!! :D

  • wow I see a lot of him in Marlyn Manson...

  • ig, the only true punk-rokcer - you have to love him

  • Yeah. I was really into Manson in high school back in the day, before I went to art college and got into early alternative/punk, which is what your suppose to do there. Most of the best parts of his act came from The Iguana. The demonic Road Warrior transvestite look was all him though. I still think that was really cool.

  • Intelligent and Crazy

    Dat Rocks

  • No shit, Iggy! No one IN the music called themselves punk or punk rockers...Exactly as Iggy said. We were just rock n rock

  • His mind is gone.

  • Iggy pop the king of rock

  • Ha ha, "No I don't", "I forgot your name".

    That was funny as.

  • Smart guy, loved him in Coffee and Cigarettes

  • iggy rocks!

  • I am a big fan of Iggy but he's less "bad boy" here and more of a rude pain in the neck. But then Bowie went through his black shirt and nazi salute phase around this time and we forgave him that. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

  • hahahaha

    amen

  • 1:01 amazing

  • heehee, I love Iggy. This always makes me laugh.

  • Nope.

  • ahahaha not at all

  • Captivating interview.

  • Here's the rest of what Iggy said: "What, sounds to you like a big load of trashy old noise is in fact the brilliant music of a genius... myself. And that music is so powerful, that it's quite beyond my control. And when I'm in the grips of it, I don't feel pleasure and I don't feel pain, either physically or emotionally. Have you ever, have you ever felt like that? When you just, when you just, you couldn't feel anything, and you didn't want to either. "

  • I think Joaquin Phoenix is for real. Outside of him though everyone panders to the media.

  • This is one of the greatest interviews ive ever heard. If someone gave this response today it would be utter bullshit but you can tell he meant every word he was saying.

  • For better or worse, people just seemed to have more personality back then. Most celebrities now seem so afraid to say anything that might be controversial. It's all become so corporate.

  • Iggy is the most down-to-earth celebrity you will ever meet. He's open and caring, in a midwest kinda way. That is until you lie to him!

  • YOu are COMPLETELY right ! ! ! !

  • labels fuckin suck!!

  • Comment removed

  • he does adds for insurance now

  • Yeah. Can be seen as a sell-out, but I still like em, and him.

  • HaHaHaHaHaHaHahAhAhAhA! He's Great , He's an Original .

  • now i know to say the P-word.

  • Why do people keep saying the Stooges didn't give a shit? If they didn't give a shit why would they even make music. They gave a shit about what they were doing, I mean, yeah..

    XD

  • I saw Iggy Pop get booed off the stage in his home town... in his defense, The Rolling Stones were waiting in the wings.

  • the interviewer was being nice and he was being a smug asshole. Lesser Bowie

  • heroin-arrogance: priceless

  • shame he sells car insurance now

  • I think he stopped lol no?

  • dosent he just do the commertials?

  • commertials is'nt a word, but nevertheless the insurance company would'nt,and does'nt,insure 'rock stars',thus branding their own commercial useless, much alike the word commertials.

  • Iggy looked really intense....the look in his eyes was a bit frightening.

  • bahah funniest thing hes said "well sir" "you dont have to call me sir" "well i dont HAVE to, but i forgot your name" god bless iggy

  • "the "not giving a shit" ideology punk rockers cling onto is a lame ass front to cover up that they are not that good at music " - skater

rehearsals, set lists, photo shoots, meetings with managers, labels, interviews, touring... if that`s "not giving a sh%$" I`m the ghost of Kurt.

  • Iggy Pop is one of the most influential musicians in the history of rock n' roll in general, not just punk rock. He did what he did because he loved it and for that I love him. He is a hero of mine and I wish more modern day musicians would be as real as he was then and still is now. That complete brutal honesty and the "I don't give a fuck" attitude is missing is todays music, and anyone who can't realize this should do some research on Iggy and the Stooges, because it would do them some good.

  • i couldent have sead it better my self.

  • The Stooges were one of the first bands that didn't give a shit. They did what they did.

That's it. Go away if you don't like it.

  • cuz they played punk music

  • Does Iggy Smokes?and why everyone call the stooges punk?

  • Anyone who gets a round of applause for imitating himself puking is a God in my book..Love this interview, thanks! ("No, I don't have to; I forgot your name.")

  • watch the mogwai video called 'Punk Rock' - it adds music to the sound bites.

  • I feel so much less cool when I watch this video.

  • i think i like this guy. so real

  • He still cracks me up! = )

  • Ig hates labels, loves eyeliner!
